I have a serious man crush on Suriano. Damn we are lucky he's one of ours!
We can relax a little. Nick won. He scored enough to overcome the ref. He now has experienced a D1 leg ride and knows what to work on.

Lizak should have been hit for stalling on bottom, and certainly when Suriano stood up and Lizak did not have a leg in and he never attempted to return him.
Then you have Minnesota fans, second only to Lehigh fans who called for stalling as soon as the ref blew the whistle to start the match, calling for stalling ever second.

True freshman, in front of a hostile crowd, with a ref influenced by the coaches and crowd and pulls out the win. Don't underestimate what this type of match does for a young wrestler.
Because the only prayer Lizak had in beating Suriano was if official could find a way to award him 5 or 6 points. Minnesota fans simply begging for assistance in a match they knew their kid could not prevail otherwise

Yeah, I wish I could see those two stalling calls. Byers is very knowledgeable and isn't such a homer that I doubt his assessment.
