Not really. Very briefly, and non-scientifically:
First, pure iron is a soft metal that deforms easily, doesn't hold an edge well, and would make a poor cutting instrument. Second, the common "sharpening steel" that comes with many kitchen knife sets doesn't really "sharpen" the knife edge, but rather "hones" the edge. Honing helps maintain the knife edge straight, which improves cutting function, but doesn't "sharpen" the edge. Sharpening actually reshapes the edge and normally involves use of ceramic abrasives (e.g., stones, grinding wheels) for more significant metal removal.

I don't why it's so funny but you saying it makes laugh till I had tears. Maybe it's the absurdity of that beating Zain put on him. I first saw it during the match on this board someone said "back points on Father Time" amidst the intensity of the finals that line was breathtakingly funny. Kudos to whoever first said it.
^^^^^ You know our program is very, very good when recent stars like Ed Ruth (3X Champion, 4X AA), Quentin Wright (2x Champion, 4XAA), Matt Brown (1X champion, 2X Finalist), Morgan McIntosh (2X Finalist, 3X AA) and others such as Olympian Frank Molinaro get missed.

Recruiting news from Kyle Snyder's Twitter feed ... Dayton Racer is transferring to tOSU. He was a top 100 recruit back in the day but hasn't been great in his two years so far (a RS year at Va Tech & a year at a community college in Iowa.) I guess he'll push Tan Tom's boy for the 157 spot.
Also Jarrod Verkleeren is going to announce his college choice on 5/5 (Snyder was encouraging him to pick tOSU on Twitter)
