1). Clifford was able to right his ship and that is tough to not allow it to get away from you when it starts like that. Made some key plays, key runs, took care of the ball and didn’t make any critical mistake. I think he also completes 7 of 9 in the second half. Many QBs in that atmosphere with that start would have fell apart, there were some critical QB mistakes but they were by the senior on the other side

2. You can’t run on this team and they get a lot of pressure on the QB. They could tighten some things up on the backside but in general if they continue to stop the run and pressure the QB it will be a great defense all year.

3. They showed no signs of getting rattled, not even on the bad calls, the great touchdown catch. In the past that touchdown catch with 2 plus minutes would have been awfully scary, not for this team. More on that in my final point.

4. We went out and imposed our will and ran the ball for the first time in a long time in a game where we had to salt it away late with no momentum on our side vs a tough defense. We took that ball and shoved it down their throats. So big props to the big fellas, tight ends and Noah Cain. That is how you finish off a game.

I am expecting an offensive explosion Saturday and for Patterson to get a lot of close ups of the beaver stadium turf. I hope they replay his comments from after last years post game on the jumbos before the white out. Good luck Shea.
