Anyhow, Pitt’s Tight Ends we’re historically bad this season. The 3 TE’s COMBINED totals were 10 catches 69 yards and 0 TD’s. Shawn Watson, our horrible OC has basically abondoned attacking defenses in the middle of the field. Our passing game was ranked #120 of #126. We were legit with Navy and Georgia Tech who don’t pass on purpose.

News that horrible coach Tim Salem was traveling to California to re-recruit the top JUCO TE in the country was welcomed news, right? Not quite. You see, this TE was committed to Pitt once. He saw how bad we were and said, no thanks. He was open to hearing what Pitt had to say now, knowing he was a receiving TE. What did Salem do? Talked about how good of a blocking TE he would be at Pitt. This interview I linked above should be enough to get the entire staff fired. I often wonder what sin I committed in a past life that condemned me to following this trash team. SMDH. Merry Christmas y’all!!!

He actually seems quite high on UConn because of the way they use their TE’s. Narduzzi is worse than Chris Ash. I’d rather have new Maryland coach Mike Locksley and his 3-31 record. At least he can recruit.

Peak is a great cheerleader, but that is about it. I feel bad for you guys as he does nothing but blow smoke up your arses. He then blocks out any outside noise and just feeds what few left listen to him a bunch of BS of who every kid is a diamond in the rough. Now I think Pitt does do a decent job there in finding some overlooked kids, but you're lucky if you get 1-2 kids like that in any class....never mind 20 of them. Kudos to those kids for not giving up and fighting for a decent season to be honest....well done there.

I've thought about it but in the end, it's not my style. There is a lot of Penn State negativity over there, but there is a lot of Pitt negativity here. I am not saying there is never a time to be critical, but on both boards it's pervasive. I can't stop it so I ignore the worst offenders and move on

If I maybe serious for a moment. There really are no more diamonds in the rough. America is full of excellent HS football players, and if you can play someone will find you. The proof is in all those players that have great college and often pro careers that weren’t highly recruited. They just often develop later in life then high school blue chip players, played at smaller schools or whatever. But trust me someone saw them.
A major college program must focus on the best of the best to insure success. Projects, while potentially good at the collegiate level, are left by and large for the lesser programs to develop. Some make it but most don’t.
PITT has inherent problems attracting blue chip prospects, and having a recruiting adverse coach only compounds the problem. Unfortunately when choosing not to address the situation, the fallback is “ we’re great at getting diamonds in the rough “. This is a classic ostrich head in the sand mentality. Combined with the constant smoke blowing from Peak, buffoonish coaching and vicious attacks on anyone who dares criticize same, they are getting exactly what they deserve.
