Did he pull up in that big Pitt equipment truck? Now, there was a brilliant piece of propaganda.
Just to be cautious;
What was your handle over on the Lair?
Do you think Penn State was treated fairly as a result of the Sandusky scandal?
I think Pitt's current representation in the NFL is random luck. Kudos to the staff for finding these guys, but it's not plausible to believe that, considering the staff turnover over the last 20 years, you always managed to find coaches that identify the sleepers. This century, you've had 5 different staffs. One staff, OK. Two staffs, maybe. Other than that, luck.When people ask me, how does Pitt have so many good players in the league? That’s exactly my response. They are good at finding the diamond in the rough types, but they fail getting high end talent. A couple years ago when Paul Chryst was here, it was literally Aaron Donald and a bunch of no names. The recruiting classes have sucked recently, and now they have to replace 4 OL next season. You might sack Pickett 20 times.
Now this is actually BS and you are now showing your true stripes. Joe said: "WITH THE BENEFIT OF HINDSIGHT, I wish I'd done more". How is this confusing?I didn’t think that you are cared about my thoughts on the Sandusky scandal. But, I think that the appropriate people were punished. I actually have a deep admiration for Joe Paterno. I am in my mid-30s, but when I was in high school he visited us one time during summer football camp. He stood outside our locker room and shook every single player hands that walked out of our locker room after practice. He couldn’t have been better. I also think that it shameful that people dragged his good reputation through the mud prior to his death. Even Joel admitted that in retrospect, he should have done more. But ultimately, it was not his responsibility. My handle on the Lair was the same that it is here.

What was your username on the Lair?
Actually, no it isn't. Retrospect leaves the opinion that he likely knew what was going on, while "with the benefit of hindsight" makes it clear he didn't know what was going on at the time.That’s precisely what I said. Oh no

So, did Joe Know?

Penn State needs to recruit this TE. Imagine a two TE set with Kuntz and Koontz. Future football broadcasts may be R rated.

Now, that’s just mean.The long snapper had more yards snapping the ball than Pickett did throwing it.
What a biased view, you just don’t get it. Highly ranked recruits are immaterial when one has the Opera, museums, proximity to an NFL locker room and a World class coaching staff led by the DUZZ. This is how you go from 5 and 7 to 7 and 6 and become Coastal Champs. Now let’s talk about important stuff like tarping empty seats and uniform color combinations.Remember when Pitt and Penn State used to battle it out until signing day for recruits? Now Pitt is battling it out with G5 and FCS schools for recruits.
How many PSU verbals had Pitt offers this cycle? How many actually considered Pitt as a viable option?
The thread title is accurate about one thing -- the Pitt Recruiting Story is Ridiculous.

I don’t see why not. Going 5-7 but beating Miami last year qualified.If you can be coastal champs at what will likely be a 7-7 season... does going greater than 0.500 mean a national champs?

I don't want to go down the guilt/innocence path concerning Sandusky. He was an ex-employee, I quite frankly don't care about him, and it never should have been made a "Penn State" issue. But "people" implies more than just him. Who else do you think was appropriately punished and why? Why do you think that these people were appropriately punished (despite not actually witnessing anything, and not being trained to recognize the crimes), but not Mike McQueary, his dad, Dr. Dranov, the DPW/CYS professionals that cleared Sandusky in 1998 and to adopt many times, and the professionals at The Second Mile... especially Jack Raykovitz who was responsible for Sandusky and the teen (who is on the record saying nothing happened that night in the PSU showers), and received the report from the PSU admins?But, I think that the appropriate people were punished.
No, he shouldn't be flamed. He's just pretty much like the rest of America who hears the exact same thing from media types. It's understandable that he isn't as well versed in the nuances of all of this, as he doesn't have the vested interest that most of us over here do. I'll give him a pass on this one.I'm not going to flame you, but I will tell you why many PSU fans will take exception to the highlighted part of your comments (ignoring the misspelling of Joe's name). What he said was, "with the benefit of hindsight, I wish I had done more." There are two significant differences between the two statements. First, "in retrospect" is not the same as "with the benefit of hindsight." I'll let you look up the difference. Second, "I should have" and "I wish I had" are markedly different. "Should have" indicates that he did not do something that was required, whereas "wish I had" indicates he regrets not going above and beyond what was required, knowing something when he made that statement that he did not know when the incident actually occurred.
Incidentally and FWIW, I saw that you answered the handle question in your first reply.
