Flo just released the pre-seeds and Howard isn’t listed at 126 for Bergen Catholic. Hope he wasn’t injured seriously in the Crookham match at Beast of the East.
Howard isn’t in the bracket either. Really sucks because he would have had some great matches. Doc B is always a great tournament but this year it looks exceptional! Every weight up to about 182 is stacked. I’m excited to see 113 with the top 4 seeds being 1)Richie Figs 2)Joey Cruz 3)Jack Gioffre 4)Gabe Wisenhunt. That is a really good and fun top 4. I would have loved to see Robbie vs. Maximo Renteria or Dylan Ragusin. As it is, that could be a final but the 3 (Rundell) and 4 (Nardone) are great as well. One last matchup that I’m sure everyone wants is at 160 with Paddy Gallagher vs Cael Valencia! On paper it is probably the match of the tournament and they have very contrasting styles as well. I’m picking the slight upset and going with Valencia in his home state. Should be a really great couple days of wrestling.
One last question...does anyone know how bad Robbie is hurt?
He's out having pasta with Raptor. My guess is Cael does, lets ask him.
it’s a matter of holiday break and weather that attracts non California teams into the Valley. Solid competition and a lot of sight seeing available for the families that have never been out west before.Damn, no wonder The Clash seems way down. Between Doc B and Cheesehead...
Do you guys think any extra incentives are thrown around to get these teams to fly all over and attend their tournaments?
Everyone has money these days. Hell...when I was a kid, if I would have told my parents I wanted to go to a tourney out in Cali my old man would have said, "start walking..." lolit’s a matter of holiday break and weather that attracts non California teams into the Valley. Yes. Doc B has incentivised east coast teams in the past. We have a few regulars that take a year off from ETR to head out there once in a while. Nice trip for them.Damn, no wonder The Clash seems way down. Between Doc B and Cheesehead...

we did the hoagie route when i coached travel softball in the 80's. things have changed a bit these days. my grandson plays travel soccer. since he finished his hs soccer season(they finished 2nd in the state tourney), he's had tourneys in md, n. car and orlando over christmas. the families are responsible for getting their sons to and from the tourneys.that's just not feasible for hs teams, however.Yep. Even to do an intermediate length road trip as a team, we would have to sell a lot of hoagies to fund it. That is how we funded a lot of our Little League events when I was a kid. Fortunately, they sold like hot cakes in our little town just up 219 & 53 from you.

@dunkej01 - this is a no brainer.so this is why i never understood why it was so hard for tHR people to understand/accept why families would send their kids to HV for less than a full ride.
Come on Dice -- that guy is somebody's child, and maybe that was the best for him.@dunkej01 - this is a no brainer.
When you live in a trailer park next to your best friend Rickey LaFleur, providing the best for your children takes a back seat to a case of Busch Light and a pair of striped overalls.

Well, instead of getting off on 53, if you stay in 219, you go right thru my little town. Where you from Ski? I went to Ridgway High in the 70s.

yep. definitely not cheap to play travel anything these days.my daughter is 8 and her soccer club is $2400/yr plus uniforms and then another $300 for winter sessions. our tournaments, coaches and facilities are paid for but not our travel. Again she is 8 which blows my mind thinking back about my youth. We host 2 tournaments and volunteer time to it. no other fundraising is asked of us. We travel to PA, NJ, MD, DE, VA
my sons U-11 travel baseball team is $1000/yr this includes coaches, uniforms and practice fields/cages. we pay for all tournaments and travel. we are doing gambling pools, department store solicitation, hoagie sales, hit up small biz, etc. We will travel around MD, VA to play
so this is why i never understood why it was so hard for tHR people to understand/accept why families would send their kids to HV for less than a full ride. Parents want the best for their kids and right now the economy supports that endeavor. so getting to PSU at less than a full ride but with the best coaches/fans/administration support is nothing to what they paid prior
and our kids are in public school....throw in private school and jeez the money pit never ends
someday it will end, probably. but right now it seems like it just rolls on.

We wrestled Ridgeway when the Pretchl family was big on the scene. Probably have the name spelled wrong.Well, instead of getting off on 53, if you stay in 219, you go right thru my little town. Where you from Ski? I went to Ridgway High in the 70s.

Lol. Maybe I should have started this over on HR, so he can "win the argument" and I'll go away. Wait, I've already gone away over at the HR.Shots fired @gripp187

Portage? Lilly?
Beautiful tightnit little town. I'm out that way fairly often. I have a lot of relatives in Portage and my cousin married a girl from Lilly. They moved south near Richmond. Have two boys that were pretty good wrestlers. The youngest is a stud and won quite a few youth state titles down there. He's really good at baseball and gave up wrestling to concentrate solely on baseball. Has all the big. schools recruiting him. I think he likes Va tech but do know Penn State is recruiting him. I'd love to see him come back up north.Lilly. Most of my family is still there.
Oh and those little old church ladies in Portage and Lilly make the absolute best Haluska in world. I go to at least 2 highschool football games out there just to buy some at the tables they set up to raise money for the boosters. LolLilly. Most of my family is still there.
Lol. Sorry. My bad.
I ended up catching my club guys at a tournament in Cannon Falls, but that top bracket with Shakopee, Waverly-SR, and STMA should be good. Don't know squat about the NY team.Hey crop, which of the clash matchups are you most looking forward to?
As a fellow 507er I am heading out to catch the action
