Ron was good friends with Board Member "Mt. Nittany". We saw Ron after his rookie year and told him that how did he feel that Ron was voted in his rookie year the 5th dirtiest player in the NFL, his reply was priceless he said that yes he was the 5th dirtiest player in football but the first 4 were defensive players....so he was the dirtiest offensive player, he took it as a complement.
Ron said that he was not as athletic as some of the OTs on Tampa Bay, and that he was not as strong as some of the OL so he had to out work them off the field and on the field.
He was a very nice guy off of the field, he would scare the hell out of me on the field.

He could be scary off the field too We almost got into it many many years ago just a little dumb testosterone test. I decided at a crucial point he had more. That was only time I backed down on an opportunity to roll through college and 8 years in the Army. (I've matured since then).

He used to regularly get into fights with Reggie White. Golic told the story of them fighting in the nude in the locker room. Ronnie didn't back down from anyone. Ever. Did I say ever?
