The media source which would have good "contacts and sources" in regards to what has transpired here (including the use of two unscrupulous media outlets, CBS Sports and "The Rag") say its filth within the b1g shiz-hole that is behind the propagation of this crap. The CBS crap is probably via their Chicago bureau like some other crap about PSU that has floated out of that cesspool. You need to read up on Sandy and her Cal resume. How anyone can trust her is beyond me. She ran that Athletic program into the ground.
Franklin has a hole in the upperclasses from sanctions, but is recruiting his ass off. Easy to see the bright future this program has. The entire athletic department is kicking ass. Even men's basketball is recruiting like never before. You're looking for problems that don't exist.
Cal program was also kicking ass when she came in. Their football team was top 10. She then built without a plan. Like I said I don't buy the rumors at all, but. I also don't trust Sandy at all either.

There is probably a good reason why Narduzzi creeps out a bunch of these kids. Bowers and Miller both said something about him last year & a couple of kids this year. He's probably telling Sanders to go to MSU so they can both meet up there in a couple years when he goes back. Who knows? Recruiting is a pretty slimy business I suppose.

The only "rumor" I've heard was some clueless sports writer in eastern PA saying Penn State would be a logical landing spot for Chip Kelly. It was a scenario he simply pulled out of his ass and wasn't based on anything whatsoever. He apparently wasn't aware we're not looking for a head coach. No doubt one of his future columns will claim Phil Jackson is a good fit for the 76ers.

Okay Bushwood, here is where I think you are hysterical. You call me a double knot spy, because you and a contingent of other fans truly believe you are agents. Agents of Penn State recruiting. This board is a Penn State football discussion board. It isn't an arm of the Penn State staff or its recruiting. Recruits choose schools for various reasons. I have yet to meet one who has said I chose school "xyz" because of what is wriiten about me on their schools rivals board. Coach Franklin would be doing a horrible disservice to the school if he allowed any of you to be a factor in his recruiting. Judging by the results, I think he is doing okay all on his own. Therefore anytime I say something you disagree with, please continue to try and shout me down. It only shows how deranged you truly are.
It's truly amazing how well Joe recruited after he hit say, 70. And Franklin is only 43.
Four seasons after he hit 70, he had two losing seasons, followed by a winning season, followed by two losing seasons. He wasn't recruiting very well at all, at that point. He even said he got lazy with recruiting.
Joe Paterno's recruiting declined significantly in his 70s. In the 1980s and 1990s, PSU's recruiting classes were regularly top 10 and often in the argument for the top class in the country. In the 2000s, I believe PSU's recruiting began a slow decline due to Joe's age, his aging assistant coaches, and negative recruiting from other coaches stating Joe Paterno was going to retire before they would finish their 4 years. Expectations were gradually lowered to the point where we were expecting (and happy with) top 20 classes rather than top 5 classes.
When the Sandusky scandal hit, a lot of the inherent advantages that PSU enjoyed with recruits as a result of the program that Paterno had built were eliminated and B'OB and Franklin have had to put a lot of work reselling PSU to the recruits. Franklin's ability to put together back to back top 20 classes in the face of the lingering effects of Sanctions and the Sandusky scandal is a tribute to his efforts. Franklin has elite recruiting abilities and his present recruiting abilities far exceed the recruiting abilities of the post 70 year old Paterno. After a few years of success on the field, I have no doubt PSU will once again become dominant in the recruiting front, not just top 20.

I think our average Rivals ranking for Joe's last 10 years was 29th. Not going to be competing for many championships at that rate. He also was abysmal with the top PA recruits over that span.
