PSU is 18-6 at this point in the tournament

By comparison, Ok. St. is 22-3 heading into this round

Ok. St. leads the team race by 2 points ahead of PSU

early mat assignments:

Nico and Rogaliner (MSU) on mat 1

Conaway and Ziegler (G-Webb) on mat 8

Moss and Stewart (Campbell) on mat 3

22 wins to 18 and only a two point lead. If PSU can keep up the bonus advantage (as I suspect they will), they should be bringing home another 1st place trophy tomorrow.

125:
Nico vs. Rogaliner (MSU) (he's 6-7 on the year)
this is the 1st bout of the tourney for Nico

1st:

2nd:
Nico chooses bottom. he has 1 min of RT to start the period. Quick up and out for the esc, 3-1. Follows it with a quick TD, 5-1, and then Nico cuts him, 5-2. Nico snaps the head but can't get behind, but then does on the other side for the TD, 7-2. PD stops things with 35 sec left. RT at 1:30. Spiral ride for Nico. End. 1:58 of RT

3rd:
Rogaliner takes bottom. Nico breaks him down. Nico cuts him, 7-3. Nico snaps down on the head, circles behind, 9-3. Nico cuts him, 9-4. Nico with another snap down and the TD, 11-4. Nico cuts him, 11-5. Nico working on the head, and gets the TD, 13-5 with 30 sec left. Stall warning on Rogaliner. Rideout. With RT, it's a 14-5 major. I believe RT was 3:05

Pretty sure Kade Moss's match will start before this ends

1st

Moss defers, and Stewart takes bottom. 14 sec of RT for Moss. Stewart up and out quickly, 2-2. Collar ties, then nearly a body lock by Moss, and then a stall warning on Stewart for backing up. Stewart in on an ankle, and they go OOB, but fleeing is called on Moss, 2-3. Questionable call. End

3rd
Moss takes down. Moss stands, and he's out, 3-3. RT at 12 sec for Moss, so it's a non factor. Moss lowers level, tries to shoot, then Stewart with a counter, Moss with a whizzer, Stewart reaches up for the head, and tries to pull Moss in, but they go OOB with 33 sec left. He cuts him, 8-4. Nolf with a double leg for the TD, 10-4. Dowdy flat and Nolf working the left arm, and then gets a tilt off the other arm, and Nolf gets 4 NF, 14-4. End

3rd
Nolf takes bottom. To his feet, steps over for a reversal, but action is stopped as there was an issue with the clock, and no points awarded. Nolf to his feet, and is out, 15-4. Nolf in on legs, a flurry then a snap down and a TD, 17-4. Missed a bit but I believe it's a cut and then a TD by Nolf. Dowdy with a stall warning. Nolf with a TD with 17 sec left. McIntosh in on a single, to a double, 9-2. Gives up an esc, but then McIntosh gets a TD with 3 sec left, and with RT it's a 12-3 major for Scratch

Cutch's back seems to be acting up again. He should really take some serious time off after this and get that straightened out

PSU goes 10-2 in Round of 16, and advances at least 1 guy to the quarters in 9 weight classes.

So what happened in the non-PSU matches? I saw malone's note on Collica, but that's it. Any updates? How's Ok. St. doing?

Okie State may be tied with us for 1st or a point away. they are wrestling solid and getting plenty of bonus.

Cutch's back seems to be acting up again. He should really take some serious time off after this and get that straightened out

You could really tell after that first period scramble that he was in a lot of pain. I'm guessing he must be having back spasms the way he's grimacing. I agree, he might need to take some time off to heal up.

PSU had 2 TFs and 3 Majors in Round of 16

Shame that Rasheed is dropped to consolations. He really had a war with Massa.

Penn State is up in the team score... 47.5 to Oklahoma States 44.5 with the round of 16 done and consolations still going on.

Moss needs a shot at 141, Jimmy has reverted back to his freshman year struggles

Jimmie Gulibon looks lost out on the mat. It's in his head. Kid has all the ability in the world. He looks perplexed as what to do on the mat. I hate to say this... but he looks like a complete head case on the mat. Shoots from three feet away. Doesn't remotely set up his shots. He looks horrible.

141 R3 Consolations
Gulibon vs. Hall (Mich)

1st
Missed it. Hall got a TD, and let 0-2

2nd
Jimmy got the esc, 1-2

3rd
Hall is down. Jimmy working a one-on-one 30 sec in. Hall to his feet, Gulibon tries to trip, and OOB with 1:15 left. Jimmy cuts him, 1-3. Jimmy shoots, pulls on the leg and drives thru for the TD, 3-3. 50 sec left. OOB with 32 sec. Optional start for the esc, 3-4. Hall in on a single, and takes him down, 3-6. OOB with just a bit left. You just can't give up a TD there. End, and Jimmy's tourney is over.

FWIW, Jimmy nearly had a TD in the 2nd, but as was the case earlier, he couldn't finish it.

He doesn't finish ANYTHING. His TD conversion pctg is probably around 30% and he gets in deep and just has no clue what do

Consolations Round 3
Dinmore vs. Marchetti

1st
Missed the beginning. Dinmore up 2-1. Injury TO for Dinmore. Appears to be an ankle issue. He ran out of time on the injury clock, so he's going to have to injury default at 2:55.

I cant bring myself to be a JG apologist anymore. But before we go all HR on him, realize he and the staff know what we know and more. only thing that can be said in times like this .....I trust in Cael

PSU has 10 guys in the quarters.

PSU has 2 guys in consolations (Hammond & Rasheed)

Oh absolutely, and I wish no ill will on the kid. But right now he doesn't deserve to be in the lineup more than Kade. If he can figure it out and start wrestling better he can take the spot back, at the moment I think Kade deserves it more.
