Shorter in the portal

Good for him. Or not. He was a 5 star high school player. Did not show anything near that level in college. Maybe Florida will turn it around for him.

I doubt we'll ever learn exactly what happened. Leaving before the season ended is very bad but we don't know the other side of the story. Regardless, he has a good pedigree and good size. I don't see how losing him and recruits like Flemming can be viewed as a positive.

Slade retweeted this.

Players without work ethic think,"put me in coach and I'll show you." A coaches mind works like this...."show me in practice and I'll put you in." Perhaps his "lack" of targets or playing time reflected what he was doing every day in practice, in the weight room, in meetings, in classes and how he spent his free time etc. I love how idiots just assume because some service gave him 5 stars that the coaches were supposed to put blindfolds on, stick plugs in their ears and put him on the field ahead of others. LOL
I wish him well, he made his choice....didn't want him back here after the way he quit on his team mates. (mid season).
Can't even believe that some fanboys wanted him back after that.

I hope he learned from his mistakes. The world doesn't owe him a living or playing time (targets) because someone put 5 stars next to his name. The great ones have incredible talent AND a burning desire to be the best....which manifests itself in practice etc.
I really do hope he succeeds.........even though we'd have to clean up puddles of tears hear. I just didn't want him back here after the way he pulled his little hissy fit with 2 games to play. Players who opt for the portal, like those who leave early for the draft are entitled to those decisions. Slamming the door on your team mates and daddy jumpint in...I have no place for that.
From my perspective, one of the great things about athletic competition is falling flat on your face and getting back up, stronger, wiser and then attaining success. I wish that for Justin Shorter.

The left pic, I thought that was a dropping football, but it turns out it was simply his right knee.

Second pic, he’s describing his ego.

Third pic, he’s holding something, he’s not sure what it is.

SOMEDAY, he’ll realize that walking out on his teammates in-season was a cowardly disgrace. I hope he grows up and learns from his mistake.

Here you go! This is more in line with what we were used to seeing from Shorter while in a tradition filled Blue & White uniform!

So, to you stars supercede playing ability and effort.

I guess...
You would prefer a Shorter over a K
J Hamler.

No. Why do you act snarky and put words in my mouth?

Shorter only has 1 year of experience and he had some drops. That's not enough for me to give up on him and assume he just wasn't any good. Remember Gesicki? Florida is at PSU's level and they wanted to give him a shot. I don't think they're stupid.

Leaving the team mid season is horrible. I don't know if he had a legitimate complaint with the staff but my guess is that he just got frustrated and developed a bad attitude. Who knows? I just wish it hadn't happened like that.

Shorter doing the whole uniform thing is like someone throwing a bridal shower for a second marriage.
Him even taking those photos says a lot of his level of maturity.
Is Jordan Stout immature? Or just the guys that do it when they leave?

You put your own words in your mouth....
You are dazzled by star ratings...
I simply prefer performance at the P5 div 1 level over some toadstool like Mike Farrell's one on one fake set up rankings.

Who are the best backs in this loaded running back room? The 5 star or the 3 and 4 stars. It's pathetic....
I simply prefer guys that work hard and make big plays to inflated egos that do little with big heads.......
Farrell and all the parasites like him and his Rivals add nothing to the game of College Football... but BS.

In the Minnesota game he dropped Cliffords first pass on an inside slant. Later in the series, he lost a jump ball on a long pass to a kid 4-5 inches shorter than him. Then drops a TD pass later in the half. Yes, he should have been benched and was in the second half, I believe. Instead, he pouted and went to the portal after the Indiana game. I wish him well and hope he has learned a valuable lesson.

2 of those were on Shorter 1 was on Clifford.... Shorter cannot defy physics.... Clifford needs to look at the defender and throw away from the defender when the WR is in the air. Clifford threw to the wrong side. But Shorters hissy fit was totally immature and I hope he finds maturity some day soon. Prima Donnas go somewhere other than PSU, always and forever .... Please! I'll take the 4, 3 and 2 star scraps like Barkley, Brown and Hardy every time.... unless they are a 5 star like Parsons.... and Ricky Slade.... guys that work their asses off and the opposite of crybabies.

He's a quitter. Left the team mid-season. Hopefully he has a poor career at Florida. I wish him zero success.
Things don't work out sometimes. I certainly don't know the reasons here, and I doubt that you do, either. We never saw what we expected from him, and maybe he should have stuck it out until the end of the season, but no reason to wish bad things for him. If it's a lack of work ethic as some have suggested, I hope he matures and takes advantage of the opportunity. It's sad to see talent go to waste.

A) because he’s a human being, and I wish other people success even if there isn’t something in it for me and B) he’s a Penn Stater, and put a lot of work into our program for a couple of years.
I don’t wish all human beings success. He’s no longer a Penn Stater, so his success not only doesn’t do anything positive for our program, it would be a negative..,.hopefully he is not successful.

How pathetic to be you.
Have you read the threads on this board? It’s far more pathetic to be many of the posters on this board. The well wishing for Shorter from most is bullshit....I wish they were this cordial to the guys actually playing for us. What a crock.

Petty shit fills this board especially in game threads and when talking about our coaches. You know guys that are actually part of the team and didn’t bail. But so many are far more cordial to guys who leave than guys who stay. But you be you.

Look, I hope he gets his degree, gets a great job, marries a wonderful woman, and has amazing kids and a happy life. I just hope he does not do well in football because that would be bad for PSU.

Why? Did Juwon Johnson’s success this year somehow hurt us?

Justin’s success isn’t going to hurt us.
Who knows what effect it might have on recruiting. Also, if we want to make the CFP this coming season, Florida will start the season ranked ahead of us, so we need them to not be good. Having WR’s that don’t play well will help that. Then throw in if Shorter ends up playing well it will give all the anti-Franklin nuts more ammunition to blast the PSU coaches....so if you’re one of those, then I can see why you would want him to do well.

Shorter can’t play this season, can he?
