So Northwestern is the same as Carolina Panthers?

Statistically average but tough to beat? If you follow the analogy:

  • A Cam Newton type player at QB who can throw some but is more dangerous running due to his size.
  • The NW defense, like the Panthers, keeps everything in front of them and the linebackers make plays.
  • Sure tacklers.
  • Special teams good to very good at times.
  • Two corners that can play man.
Okay, if you buy that and its possible that's all true to an extent...

Carolina loses when?

When they:

  • Play a team that can run effectively.
  • Face quality QBs.
  • Teams are patient in the pass game, getting first downs not necessarily chunk plays.
  • Convert in the red zone.
  • Keep Cam Newton in the pocket.
  • Pick off some passes.
