Starocci

Great, someone finally came forward, now for the love of Cael, can we PLEASE retire this joke?
You guys are opening a can of worms. Almost all our jokes are dumb, and most of them are old. If you start making fun of jokes, people might start looking at your jokes. Jefe reliably jokes about program vs. team, and recruiting titles, etc., etc. Stand jokes about his wife. Not one of us can stand up to scrutiny! :)

That's not fair.

I also reliably joke about deadlifting out of bottom.

And Norway, you joke about 🇳🇴 Norway. Or was it Iceland🇮🇸, yes, it was Iceland🇮🇸. Lol. However, Nico will last forever.

It’s been a while, but I seem to recall quite a few stalemates in his matches against Nolf. I know Jason initiated some, but not all. I have to favor Kemerer this year, but I think CStar has a narrow path to win when it counts.

Kemerer remains a solid favorite over Starocci at the moment. That said, Cenzo pinning Martinez was a much bigger upset than if Starocci were to win. There is a path.

We all joke about cruise liners and loud booms coming from Jersey 😁

Kemerer beat a hobbled Romero 3-1. The favorite - ok, but I don’t know how solid.

yep. He is the favorite but I wouldn’t classify him as a prohibitive one.

that’s the thing with this Iowa squad. They have no holes.... but they also have 1 guy with an NCAA title. Actually only one guy who has placed higher than 3rd.

outside of Lee they don’t have anyone where it would absolutely shock me if they aren’t wrestling Saturday night in mid March

Reminder, that stands for Iowa Doesn't Get a Finalist.

I'm glad that you are enjoying my acromym. Not sure how much use you will get out of this, though.

Since 1975, there has only been one year(excluding Covid cancellation) where the Hawkeyes didn't have at least one wrestler make the finals at NCAAs, 1989.

Just to be factual......Kemerer is the one who "Hobbled" Romero. He didn't beat a "Hobbled" Romero. He "Hobbled" Romero and proceeded to defeat him. Romero never threatened a TD......before or after the "Hobbling"

Kinda like how Micah Jordan never threatened a takedown during "The Hobbling."
Pretty hard to threaten a Takedown when your shoulder blades are pretty flat on the mat.....for at least 6 minutes. That was a clinic......or a torture if you were the one on the bottom. To me.....that might have been Nolf's best match of his career. Completely changed his focus and attacks and concentrated on riding and turning. A joy to watch :)
