Temple Game Thread

In case folks want to keep things in one place. 3-0 PSU.

What is Franklin arguing with the Officials about? He was arguing with them before the game and still arguing with them after PSU's first series. Something about PSU's footballs and pressure - he is very pissed off judging by his gesticulating. BTW, which b1g Turd crap crew did we get???

Fingers crossed but the OL looks like they are doing alright. Pass blocking looks solid and pushing people around on the runs. Keep it up looking good.

This is a VERY different team than last year. It is actually solid. Gonna be a good run if this is how they play going forward.

Not much to complain about so far. No constant DL penetration, that's for sure. Hack and receivers just need to settle down a little. 2 drops by Geno and Godwin bobbled that one across the middle on the TD drive.

Decent OL play thus far. D looks fast.

Looks like the Negative Nellies are wrong again - so far the reasons they gave as to why PSU was not going to be any good this year, OL and Kicking, are having great games -- too funny. So much for the loudmouths predictions (kinda like McGloin doesn't have DII talent, let alone DI-A talent....blah, blah, blah).

The D plays fast because they are fast, have an excellent coordinator, confidence in the schemes and they know where they're going. Shoop is quite a good coach.

They look very fast

The defense looks ridiculously fast.

BTW- can someone at the game head up to the press box and jam a tennis ball in Hourds(sp?) mouth and tape it with duct tape. Three or four wraps around his head should do. Better bring two rolls because he has big head.

Man we're thin at LB. Our DL should carry the defense this year, but with an injury to a starter we would be in trouble.

Very annoying voice clueless and rooting for Temple. Where do they get these clowns?

Another classic example, that sack was not the OL's fault - you simply can't stand there like that, you have to get rid of the ball. If the only way Hack can be an effective QB is with "perfect protection" where he can hold the ball until he sees what he likes.....he isn't ever going to make it in the NFL. Many like to blame everything on the OL, but the reality is that Hack has to get rid of that ball (and then to fumble it and almost turn it over inside our own 15 is just bad ball management).

OL looks better but Lynch is also a major upgrade over Belton at RB. He hits the hole harder and takes what's there.

Lynch is running hard. But he missed his block on the play where hack was chased out of the pocket and he had to scramble for a short gain in the second series. Lynch really has to step up his blocking.

Up 10 after the 1st, that's the start I was hoping for.
OL is not a seive, team speed everywhere, me likey. Hack looks rusty but hey it's game 1. I'm bothered by 1-hopping pass to WR screen and standing still in the pocket as a LB runs into him... but willing to give benefit of the doubt.

Edit: Palmer almost got Hack killed as I type this...

Ugh! Paris Palmer gets beat, then beat on the other side, then pressure on the punt.

Palmer looked lost on that last sack; he didn't hit any of the Temple rushers. It's still a learning process for him and we can only hope he improves as the season goes on.
