He stated it as if everyone knew already. First mention for me, other than past rumors.
Edit- I mis-remembered his comment, he actually said something to the effect of "I am not sure if this is out there yet." And that Meredith's results may have been part of the reason.

It was a comment from Cael and I doubt he would say if he knew, which he probably does. He just said he entered the portal today and said that he assumed people already had heard. Paraphrasing quite a but on my end.

I had lost touch with him since HS (moving away will do that) but remember him being down to earth, just a regular guy despite being the HS QB and 3 sport star.

Can one assume that Busiello won't be eligible to compete for Penn State until next season? I haven't followed the kid's PSU to ASU to PSU saga, so I'm flying blind here.

Boise didn't have a wrestling team that year. The situation is different in an additional way if Busiello had a NLI and was under scholarship.
There hasn’t been much of a saga, at least public wise. No idea why he left ASU, only had a simple instagram post saying something like broken dreams. Now the first official confirmation he is at PSU.

That was a very different situation. Boise State cancelled its program AND Kuhn was a grad transfer.
IDK about his eligibility to shirt, but starting this year seems very unlikely.
He wrestled 138 last year in HS, so 125 appears out. He won't start at 133 or 141.
If he can walk in and start at 149 as a true freshman, up a full weight from HS, being away from college practices and a college S&C program for 2 months ... he's good but he's not Zain. That would say more about our current 149s than about him.
Would love to see us nab Richie Figs. The last I saw was a premature Instagram post with him in Buckeyes white and red but I don't think he is a100% commit there yet. Any news on his status?
Don't know. Guessing he was certified at ASU -- NCAA requires schools to load certification weights on Track on/before Nov 1. He left just a few days before that.
I don't have access to Track's weight mgmt features, so I can't look up his cert weight. Track lists him at 157 on the PSU roster, but those listings are notoriously 1-2 weight classes heavier than wrestling weights -- nearly every guy on the roster is listed heavier than where they compete.
So I would guess Busiello certed at 141 or 149, but that's purely a guess.
That's gonna cost you a couple hot off the presses gifs come tournament time.
Rough week! It is just sad to see so many guys reach the end of their PSU career so unexpectedly. Brody can reach his goals at another program, but still sad to see him go.
