Allar has everyone rightfully excited, but we have another QB recruit to pay attention to.

Beau Pribula is leading his Central York team to a perfect season, challenging for his second PA 6A POY award in a row.

He has thrown for 1,438 yards, 19tds, 4 ints, and 19.4 YPC, while completing 75% of his passes.

He has rushed for 234 yards, 6.0 YPC, and 3 tds with no fumbles.

On special teams he has averaged 42.8 yards per punt on ten punts, with 3 punts inside the 20.

Here is his HUDL video for the first five games-

IMO, viewing short HUDL film of both, Pribula shows a little better form and much better follow through... gets from point A to point B faster and more accurately ( with some apparent touch).Allar often throws off of his back foot with subsequently less “zip” on the ball. —(Admittedly, this is a small sample size… but it’s easy to differentiate one from the other)

For me both guys are very close. I hope we can keep both, and both see action early. Clearly both guys are hitting the stats out of the park.

I don't think that any true recruiting guru agrees with that assessment. There are probably no programs in the country that would take Pribula over Allar, given the choice. As prospects, one of them is far ahead of the other at this point in time.

I hope both stay committed. As we've seen, you need at least 2 good QBs on the roster. Go away, Buckeyes.

I agree with your assessment. Both have room for improvement.

Allar drops the ball down to his waste on nearly every throw and as a result is getting the ball from A to B Not as quickly as he can. That also impacts his other mechanics. He has a heckuva arm.

Pribula May be a bit robotic, but he is accurate and gets the ball out quickly. He may not have the arm of Allar, but he is a superior athlete.

I will take either one and see what MY can make out of them.

Very smooth throwing motion. Effortless. Some throws were short but guys wide open made the catch.

OSUnis loaded at QB and will have someone no doubt transfer - I don’t think they will be in it for trying to flip Allar

They have sent a couple coaches to watch Allar in one of his games. OSU is interested because Ewers showed up earlier than expected. Hooefully he stays with his PSU commit.

I work with someone who knows him….says he’s staying with PSU….he’s not happy OSU showed interest so late plus he loved everything about PSU.

Yep. I hope they’re paying attention this year and see 2 qbs are needed as either could be called up at any time.

I guess there's a chance that Pribula might be McSorley II and I hope he develops as McSorley did, but based on his highlights, he is nowhere near Allar's talent level. I think #2, #4, and #5 are a huge factor in making his stats look as good as they are.

And that’s why it’s my opinion. Everyone has one...Some even base it on observation and reason— Pretty sure every recruiting guru missed on McSorley and others… including some hall of famers. — found it’s better not to defer to the “professionals” with a rubber stamp. That said, I like both prospects.

I talked to a coach who has seen them both plenty on film recently. Now I am taking him for his opinion and analysis knowing he has a ton of experience with this stuff and I don’t so I will pass it on. His opinion was Allar is far advanced reading defenses, moving off his first option to option 2 or 3 if needed. Said Pribula gets locked in on 1 guy from the start and is good enough to make it work most of the time. Said that would be more then fine making your determination in high school pre snap but in college that won’t work. Both have mechanics to work on as others have said but Allar is much more advanced reading the defense and making adjustments after the snap

I just read on TOS that ND insiders believe they are solidly in the competition for Allar. I can't even find the post, but it was a twitter link.

With Pribula and Allar both enrolling in January the BW game should be fun to watch.

Here is a new Hudl video of Pribula's last game hi-lites. He looks bigger than 6'2" 210 lbs., he may have grown this year. He has some nifty runs and three 40 +yd td bombs showing off his arm.

Even though I'm not that high on him as a QB, he looks like a fantastic athlete that to me would look awesome at LB.

Guess you never watched him play right ?? You just go by how many stars they have
Actually I watched both on TV. Impressed by both. The Josh Allen comparison with Allar is legit IMO. Pribula is probably more athletic but throws well too. Let the competition begin and may the best man win. As Clifford’s injury proves, you need more than one competent QB.

I can only go by what the guy I work with told me…he lives in Medina, played football for them, and knows the Allar family. We didn’t discuss ND, but when I said I was worried about OSU getting him, he told me that Drew’s committed to PSU. But things can always change with 18 year olds.

I’m not on that board much, so I don’t get all of the nuances. The post I read may have been mocking an older post by an ND insider. I may have misunderstood.

I wish any of us could guess what 18 year olds are thinking.

Former Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar was in attendance, as were Penn State head coach James Franklin and offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich, but it was just another day in shotgun formation for Medina quarterback Drew Allar.

The Penn State commit completed 14-of-17 passes for 311 yards and Medina County-record-tying five touchdowns Friday as the undefeated Bees rolled to a 70-7 non-league victory over winless Lorain.

Not overly impressed? Then consider that the 6-foot-5, 230-pound Allar didn't play after leading Medina to a 49-0 lead with 11:43 to play in the second quarter, at which point a running clock was used for the rest of the game.

"I just took it as any other game," Allar said after being surrounded by kids and signing autographs. "We came out as a team and played really well and did what we had to do."

Franklin was scheduled to arrive in Medina via helicopter, but due to wind and the threat of thunderstorms — the skies unleashed just as the game ended — he ended up driving in from Cleveland.

A little update on Pribula-

Last week he was incredible going 9 for 9 with 280yards and 6 touchdowns! How do you average 30 plus yards per pass?

That moved his season completion rate to 77 percent. In high school. Kids do drop passes sometimes at that level.

Last nite he had another passing TD and a rushing TD, leading his team to a win.

26 passing tds on the year now.
