They had to suck up to him because that's the only thing he will respond to. As soon as he opens his mouth, stupid shit comes out, even if they are asking softball questions. Just suck up to him to gain his trust and then watch as he hangs himself. He said in the interview (in between the "Christina" references) that he wouldn't go on podcasts where they would ask him "unfair" questions, so they didn't and he made a fool of himself anyway.
You people are just haters. This video makes clear what I've been saying all along, AJ is the victim.

They missed a perfect opportunity for a follow-up question, a couple of times: Which churches have you attended in Iowa City, and have you settled on one for regular attendance, yet?
For me, the cherry on top of the whole interview was him whipping out the race card. Lol
The Hawks are given a get-out-of-jail-free card. So what do they do? They double down.
Does an OLY RS mean he is still working out in their room? No one else will take him. Do they think he will no longer be a narcissistic jerk next year? He thinks he's the victim.

I was so glad they put that out there. Don't care what anyone says, if there's a possibility that AJ will be there eventually, it's gonna hurt recruiting.
We keep talking about AJ not changing regardless of failures at brands age I doubt he's changing either lol
I think the ORS is about Angelo. If the Ferraris all leave now, then they lose both Angelo and Chittum to this circus, which, along with Jesuroga's decision to be a Navy Seal instead of a wrestler, is an absolutely disastrous setback for their future. If they leave the carrot of taking an ORS and coming back next year out there for AJ, then the rest of the family stays at least until next year. It buys them several more months for AJ to publicly embarrass himself in a way that makes it clear no team will ever take him, and they still end up with Angelo in the end. I don't think that Iowa has any intention of ever letting AJ wrestle for them.
And I thought AJ was going to have to actually wrestle for Iowa to totally tank their program.
You can add in the Gambling fiasco to the list of disastrous setbacks.

The Spencer Lee effect is not as powerful as they think it is. Any recruiting pop while he was with the team fizzled out very quickly and I don’t think he has the personality to be a program leader. Maybe he’ll accrue some gravitas - we’ll see.
The gambling thing only torpedoed this season. The loss of Chittum, Jesuroga, and now possibly Angelo is torpedoing the future.
Counting lights while his mom destroyed his glasses (and then quitting on the consis) definitely affected his gravitas. As arguably the #1 NCAA wrestler or at least a top 5 carries far more weight than maybe a top 50-100 of all time.
Who says AJ doesn't provide anything positive? After this post I remembered about 5-6 songs from The Animals that I really like and added them to my playlist!
There are much better role models out there in the world of wrestling. Even a few on recent Iowa teams.

10 minutes of his play by play through the match, that we have all seen, ultimately justifying his state of mind and response.
Zero content on ok, what is his status with Iowa, why is he reaching out to other programs, who/if bought him the new car, are the Ferrari bros a package deal, how is the team chemistry in the Iowa room, has the Iowa AD put the kabosh on his wrestling this year but not on next year, the list could go on at infinitum...
Clearly these guys want to remain on good terms with the atheletes, but the buildup about a big interview was completely exaggerated. We literally know nothing of substance new.

They did ask a couple at the end. They weren't going to ask the more antagonistic questions because they don't want him to hang up, but they did ask why his 665 PR DL hasn't increased in years and they asked him whether he would sell shirts with a picture of the double bird splits.
It doesnt matter if he ever wrestles for them or not.
The disturbing FACT of the matter is that Brands WANTED him too.
Chittum bailed months ago, on the IDEA that Brands was even CONSIDERING taking him in.

To me the BMW video was simply desperation probably knowing the AD would not approve.
The recent interview simply solidified that AJ is who most of us thought he is- a piece of human garbage.
Lets hope he dries up and blows away because he is not worth our energy or discussion.
