This sums up CJF

Which is nothing new. Franklin's teams too often are undisciplined.
Exactly. Totally undisciplined. Which is why they are typically among the least penalized teams in college football each year.

Annual rank in LEAST penalty yardage by team under Franklin (out of 130'ish teams each year): 40, 27, 44, 9, 33, 19, 14, 29, 20, 42

Actually, you can both be correct.

The type and timing of a penalty is at least as important as the volume of penalties that are called on a team.

For example, unsportsmanlike conduct after the whistle or late hit out of bounds penalties are perfect examples of undisciplined penalties.

Those after the whistle penalties that we committed in the 1st half were undisciplined. And that problem was corrected by CJF at the half.

As a coach you want to let your thoroughbred's shine. But you have them play smart also.

Just my 2 cents....

The first pick was on Dinkins not Allar--Dinkins drifted upfield and never looked back--not a perfect pass but Dinkins created the pick (to be fair to Dinkins he was probably shocked the ball was thrown in his direction)
There's definitely risk with Allar--but how many QBs have ever been a sure thing? Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck?
PFF's grade for Allar was over an 86 yesterday--he was much better than most (not saying you) are acknowledging last night
I think I would use Herbert as the closest comp to Drew, with Herbert being a little more athletic. They both tend to miss a pass or two that they should make every game. That's no knock on Drew, Herbert is a pretty damn good passer....

As far as the first pick, looked like he threw it about a foot behind Dinkins....

It was behind him. He motioned to Dinkins after the play then at half the CBS crew talked about it being a poor route which is what I saw. Both picks that are an indication of why he doesn't trust guys other than Warren and Singleton.

I like the Herbert comp...Drew's more mobile but not nearly as mobile as Allen. Kind of raw like both were entering the league but definitely more Herbert level ceiling than Allen.
