Update, 1 p.m.: Jupiter police spokeswoman Kristin Rightler said officers pulled over Tiger Woods around 3 a.m. as he drove southbound on Military Trail south of Indian Creek Parkway.
Woods’ Jupiter Island home, however, is in the other direction.
Police did not say if anyone else was with Woods in the car.
His Harbourside restaurant called The Woods is about 7-10 minutes from the spot where he was arrested.
Rightler did not know what testing was done on the scene or at the jail. Rightler said she has not seen the report on the incident, which she said should be available some time Tuesday.
Original story: Professional golfer Tiger Woods was arrested Monday morning on charges of a DUI in Jupiter, according to Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office arrest records.
Woods, a Jupiter Island resident, was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail around 7 a.m. and released from custody on his own recognizance around 11 a.m.
Woods, 41, owns a private exclusive home near the beach in Jupiter Island. In August 2015, he
opened a restaurant at Harbourside Place called
The Woods, which is a modern upscale sports bar.
Woods’ corportate office is at Harbourside in Jupiter, not far from his restaurant.
Woods’ ex-wife Elin Nordegren lives in Seminole Landing in Juno Beach.
Woods did not play in the 2017 Honda Classic because of a back injury. He has undergone four surgeries, most notably fusion surgery just more than a month ago, to help with back spasms.
“It was instant nerve relief,” Woods said in a blog post. “Right now, my sole focus is rehab and doing what the doctors tell me. I am concentrating on short-term goals,” he wrote.
On Wednesday, Woods wrote on his news blog that he hasn’t “felt this good in years,” after his
two-day charity event Tiger Jam in Las Vegas May 19-20. Celebrities Kate Upton, Chris Paul, Kid Rock and Darius Rucker participated in the event.
Woods made no reference to the DUI incident on his web page.
Woods, who has earned more than $110 million on Tour with 79 victories since 1996, has played in just one event this year and pulled out of The Masters.
