Isn't a week early compared to most other conference tourneys though? I kind of hate that part of having it at MSG.

As an overall college basketball fan, I'm not all that jazzed about the Big Ten going to NYC. I get why they're doing it and playing the week before all the major conferences will get them a bit more attention. But what basketball fanbase is really served by having the tournament there? At least when it was in Chicago and Indy, it was easy road trips for 75% of the conference and the outliers like Nebraska, Rutgers, and PSU don't really have a big fanbase that it would make a difference that it was a further trip for them. The Big Ten tournament doesn't belong in DC or NYC but it's all about expanding that footprint.
