... is nauseating. Fawning all over growing up in the Midwest, etc, etc. You can see why Penn State never had a chance to be selected. And spare me the beat Minnesota crap. How about beating Illinois.

Lost to Illinois.

Their loss was worse than ours. Period.

Our OOC win over Pitt was better than any of their OOC wins. Period.

Our resume was better. Period.
BS. It was a toss up. The faux outrage over this is just silly at this point.

Pitt was a 7-5 team that almost lost to a last place MAC team in their bowl. We won a NY6 bowl. Be happy with it.

Remember, a loss early in the season to an inferior team doesn't matter much (if you're Wisconsin). Except if you're Penn State (2016).

And a 38-7 loss to Ohio State was a bad day. So was the BIG championship game, which doesn’t count and can’t be held against them since it was a meaningless extra game.

Grow some thicker skin dude

Wisconsin won their division and beat Minnesota, a common opponent with Penn State. It’s that simple.

Damn. You know they aren’t going to make a clip with your narrative, why are you watching

Stop whining. If you don’t win all your games, you are going to get the lot they give you. Penn State was leaking oil to end the season.

First mistake of the new year was watching ESPN for anything other than one of our games. Why give those bastards any clicks. Plus you’re getting aggravated by them. To hell with them and all the Syracuse PSU haters that run that place.

Well, they did outplay OSU for a quarter and a half in the CCC. Seems like a good enough reason to overlook the loss.

No BS to your post. Virtually identical strength of schedules. Wisky and PSU both lost to OSU but PSU lost to ranked Minnesota while Wisky lost to 6-6 Illinois and blew a10 point lead in the second half. Wisky beat Minnesota and PSU didn’t. Whoop de do. PSU didn’t lose to an unranked team.
This should have been a no brainer. What is most disturbing is that for the first several weeks the committee had PSU ranked consistently higher in recognition of the strength of their schedule. But then the talking heads started talking about “eye tests” and promoting Wisconsin and other undeserving teams like Utah (this in large part due to incessant whining about the Pac 12 not making the playoffs). Result? Viola! Wisky’s humiliating loss disappears and Wisky jumps PSU and goes to the Rose Bowl. This has become a recurrent theme with the committee and PSU the past several years. The committee has become a political popularity contest and is no better than the AP and coaches’ polls.
P. S. I did enjoy PSU’s win over Memphis and give Franklin credit for having his team focused and ready to play given the no win game the committee gave them.

I’m happy where we sit right now. Will be in the top 10 for sure. Just got a new and hopefully exciting OC coach who has experience as an OC and is actually a QB coach. Can’t wait to see how the new O-line coach plays out. I think 2020 will be better than this year on the field and 2021 recruiting will be the best yet.

And despite two attempts at the Buckeyes, was never within a TD of them in the 4th

They beat the team we lost to but it means nothing at all, right? You sound like an expert at no brainers.

This debate has been beaten down then propped up and beaten down then do that 1000 times.

Here's the deal....effing Wisky won that weak axxx west division by smoking Minny and we lost to Minny. They then follow that up with a strong first half vs the Luckeyes. That is all they needed along with some annoying and unneeded stumping by Herbstreit and Klatt (why they did that I have no idea).

Lost in all of it is the loss to Illinois but since they won the west and were playing better than PSU at the end of the season they are smelling Roses.

I feel like a fool because I thought we still had a legitimate shot at the Rose even after the Luckeyes loss. However in hindsight that Luckeyes loss knocked us out (really the Minny loss knocked us out but you know what I mean). I think Wisky gets there even if they lost by 50 to the Luckeyes.

It was clearly a very close call as to who deserved the Rose. Basically a coin flip in my opinion. We came up tails. No big deal. We won the Cotton and finished on a high note. Works for me.

I think all three of them will win.
Well, I was dead wrong in public about the Golden Gophers. Gotta give them credit; they played well. A really remarkable season for them. Wonder if they will be able to build on that going forward, or if this season was an anomaly.

These things generally do turn out to be anomalies in the long run. Won't last.

I’m still pissed that 3 years ago the weather was chilly and get overcast for most of the game. The weather the other days was very nice. Seeing it 65 and sunny...grrrr

3 losses with one being a bad loss compared to two losses with no bad ones....not a toss up.

But does anyone realize we won? From what I’ve seen and heard, the answer is no.
