Illinois-Nebraska is obviously big for Penn State tonight
Stanford plays their first ACC game at Syracuse--interesting with back-to-back eastern trips (Clemson next week) they're playing Friday this week--curious if that becomes a trend. Cal doesn't have back-to-back games in the east this year.

Illinois goes right down the field on their first possession for the passing TD. Their #1 WR Bryant is excellent. Just caught his 5th TD of the young season. Illinois stopped Nebraskas first possession to start the game.

QB for Illinois, Altmyer looks sharp: good velocity, good timing, very good accuracy. Lions are going to have to get pressure on him.
Yep.

Nebraska Freshman QB, Raiola looks good. Strong arm and pretty cool in the pocket.

Nebraska looks good pass blocking (very little Illinois rush yet), but not so good run blocking.

On the TD catch I thought there was a blown coverage, he was that wide open. On replay though he just made the CB bite on the out move.

I cannot believe Raiola is a freshman. He's scanning the field, finding 3rd/4th options. Quick release, good velocity, stands tall in the pocket. Just unbelievable. Illinois has to stunt or loop or blitz to get someone in his face.
Yupp...I'm hopeful the Steelers go 0-17 in 2026 so they get him or Arch lol

Depending on the formation, Illinois with a lot of guys in the box.

They are dropping on passes and playing downhill on the runs. Nebraska has em gassed a little now after the turnover. That was a solid drive. Burnt some time, everything looked easy.

Announcers very rarely bother me but Gardener is horrible and this might be the worst I've heard Brando in a game. At least three times he's made ridiculous comments waiting for the official word on a flag.
Good game though
Illinois ties it up with a FG. It was a solid drive, ate some clock and gave the Illinois defense some rest.

Every long pass, the WR is pushing off and it's not called. Was it Omari Evans against BGU that was called for pushing off?

Yes. Even holding on that TD. Or OPI. He caused the DB to fall, but not reviewable.
Amazing how it always seems to get called against PSU though, or like that rub route call in Minnesota that got ignored for Michigan at Beaver Stadium a few years ago.

Good game though
I e had it muted since 14:30 of the first quarter. He’s absolutely nauseating.
