Heard it today. The Deuche is on the watch list for coach of the year. Pitt will be favored in all its regular season games. And possibly the ACC title game. Could they even make the playoffs??? 😧😲😱

They blew the playoffs with the loss to a MAC team unless they get a lot of help. They’re having a good year, but they’re also being helped by the worst conference in football even having a more down year (didn’t think it was possible).
They have 2 more losses on their schedule. One being UNC.
It’s very possible, but I don’t know…this may be their year….at least until they have to play some one out of the ACC in a NY6 bowl and they get destroyed.
The guy is in his seventh year at Pitt and on the verge of his FIRST season with fewer than five losses. He's over achieving big time given his limitations as a head coach. So yeah, make him the coach of the year.

Hell, I could see Bama, GA and Kentucky all getting in with one loss over Pitt. The selection committee would take a 2-loss Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, Ohio State, etc. before they would take a 1-loss pitt with the loss being to a mid-level MAC team. Plus a horrible loss to a MAC team that lost to Ball State. No matter what pitt does the rest of the season they have zero chance of making the playoffs. Their best case scenario is to win the ACC championship game and then get seeded in a NY6 bowl.
Not a fan of Narduche, and there is still a way to go this season, but an argument certainly can be made that he does more with less.
A more likely scenario is Mel Tucker at MSU takes another job and then Narduzzi declares his pitt audition over and goes back to his intended job at MSU. This is Narduzzi's chance to get a big time job. He lucked out this year with Pickett exceeding expectations and playing a putrid schedule.
He certainly deserves mention for this year but other years he often does less with more. As for this year I would have to give it to the coach of Kentucky so far. And Kentucky has a much better schedule than the ACC .....the All Cup Cake league.
His QB and top WR would be out of the program right now if it weren't for the Covid rule. An already weak conference, Clemson's demise, Pickett and Mack back....this season has been the perfect storm for Pitt and yet they lost to a 3 loss at the halfway point MAC team.
At least five losses every year in the worst division of the worst conference in football….that’s more with less? Even the one time he beat us, they were favored.
