What are you binge watching?

His little high school neighbor girlfriend is SO HOTT.

This is the first thing I've ever seen him in and he's excellent, pretty much everyone in it is. I'm hoping he gets a lot of other roles.
The only person I recognized was Amin Joseph. Who I like in just about everything I've seen him in as well.
It is kind of hard/disturbing to watch at times but so well done.

On another note I loved the Emma Peel/Patrick McNee Avengers opening they did with Cyborg and Easti Girl (She is really terrific in this) on Doom Patrol. I'm still not liking the actor playing Cyborg though, maybe they should have used Amin Joseph or Damson Idris. LOL
Oh and the episode where Dorthy meets Aunt Flo was really well done.
Brandon Frasier is so funny in this and Diane Guerrero is fantastic as well.

Homeland is complicated but I'm glad we mostly stuck with it (kinda lost interest in the last season....). But, it's one of the best examples I can think of where the show deals with it's overwhelming issue and pivots into something new and great.

Also, on S6 of Schitt's Creek and I don't want it to end. The S5 Cabaret finale was AMAZING. One of my favorite musicals too and Alexis is just smoking hot in her Kit Kat Klub regalia...and Stevie; wow, brought the house down.

On Schitt's Creek, as a father, the last season is bittersweet. If you are a successful parent, your reward is that your kids grow up, find their niche, and (often) move away. If you are not, they live in your basement. The last season of Schitt's Creek is a great story of relationships and how they evolve over time. Not just family but community and career.

I've often posted that All if The Family was one of the best series ever because it used comedy to explore taboo issues and probably could not be made today (although I really love "Last Man Standing"). The best episode is when meathead finally graduates and gets a job in California. He fights with Archie on his way out, and he and Gloria get in their old Volvo and drive away. Archie pulls back the old lace window shade, peers out at them driving away, and a tear trickles down his cheek. Probably the saddest scene I've ever watched (but in a weird, happy, way).

Yes!! S2!! So good. Also not a big fan of Cyborg but he grows on you. April Bowlby as Elastigirl is tops - she’s perfect. Also - Flex Mentallo!!

I got caught up through season 5 of Peaky Blinders. The plot gets more complicated and convoluted each season, but I like how they tie in actual historical figures.

Looks like Season 6 plus a movie to end things.

This is the first season where Tommy gets outwitted. Fantastic to watch. Sam Claflin as Oswald Mosley is terrifying.

Been watching Imposters (only 2 seasons, but it’s been a fun ride) and just started The Servant on Apple+. It’s from M Night Shyamalan, and has some good twists to it so far. We’re still in the first season, but the second season has started with new episodes released once a week.
just got on to the Imposters myself, watched 2.5 so far, and I like it.

I will pretty much watch and like anything Denzel is in, I think he's that good. But this thing was just boring. I also understand why Remi Malick was so good in Mr. Robot, he looks and acts like one. Jarred Leto is pretty much excellent in everything he is in as well but I think its time he passes on the lets play a psycho scripts.
I was hoping for a better film. Remi and Leto seemed to be over acting a bit. It also was choppy. I gave it a B- because I too think Denzel is awesome in any role.

Also, just went back and reached season five of Homeland. The one in Germany. So so good

Pretend It’s A City

Sitting down with filmmaker Martin Scorsese, humorist Fran Lebowitz weighs in on New York City tourists, money, subways, the arts, and the not-so-simple act of walking in Times Square. It’s a series - she’s an acquired taste, but very funny, cynical, and insightful It’s for those of us who are open minded and have some interest in popular culture.

i haven’t seen it yet but I read her books. Social Studies and Metropolitan life. I think she’s really funny but her humor is not for everyone or the thin skinned.

Anyone watch Wayne on Amazon? I'm 2 eps in, definitely a different type of show.

just started it yesterday. I definitely laughed out loud a couple times. The girl kinda annoys me because of her hard ass attitude and her mouth, but other than that I’m digging it. I find the premise of the kid just not being able to stop himself from helping other people with violence interesting.

Absolutely agree.
A much better "questionable ethics" movie with Denzel is Out of Time or of course Training Day but thats more evil Denzel than questionable ethics Denzel.

I finished the season. It was pretty good. Good enough that I'd watch season 2 if there ends up being one, but wouldn't be upset if it's a one and done

For all you Italians out there (and everyone else too), if you aren’t watching Stanley Tucci’s Searching for Italy you’re missing an outstanding series. Sunday evenings @9:00 on CNN.

History and fantastic food........it’s excellent.

Great show, great food, great people, and a great showcase for the country. Can’t wait to get back — damn pandemic!

Not really a binge watch (except that I was able to make it all the way through without nodding off in front of the TV as I often do) but watched the Beastie Boys Doc on Apple TV+. Really good stuff. So much I didn’t know about the band and their issues early on with management.

It was great seeing the evolution of a band I grew up with after the fact and can appreciate it.

I've finally started Money Heist. Not bad, but there are a lot of gaping plot holes and very opportunistic conveniences in the writing.

Exactly what does “ very opportunistic conveniences in the writing “ mean? Not asking for a friend, I honestly don’t understand the term.

Important stuff happens that just seems highly unlikely.

Without giving spoilers, Key Protagonist A who just happens to randomly strike up a friendship with Key Antagonist A while having no idea that he's the bad guy.

Just started Servant last night on Apple TV+. Got 5 episodes in. Hooks you pretty fast but I hope I’m not being set up since it is an M Knight show.

I am current with the second season. I don't know how much M Knight is really involved - there is no real set up like his movies. I think the biggest shock was in the first episode.

Or does (s)he?

We just saw The Bee Gees documentary on HBO Max. It was surprisingly good, even though it is not my kind of music.

Netflix has The Dig streaming now. It is excellent. Tells a story based upon real events in 1939 England. A 40ish widow has a self taught archaeologist explore mounds on her estate. Acting is incredible, writing is thoughtful, the direction and production design are excellent. If you want a good two hours of viewing, watch this.

It's a little slow, but very well done. I keep thinking "wow, you'd need so many permits to do that today" LOL.

Sounds like Curse of Oak Island meets Downton Abbey...

They probably would've spent less money if they went directly to the "big dig" instead of all of these drill holes and coffer dams, etc. I have to think History Channel is subsidizing a lot their search.

Couple of things:

1) Some of the things they've done away from the money pit (e.g. the coffer dams in Smiths Cove, draining the swamp, etc) have been very enlightening in terms of learning more about who was on the island and when. Most of these things are not that expensive compared to digging a massive hold (i.e. 100 feet across by 200 feet deep).

2) In that every other effort to dig a "big hole" has failed (usually due to flooding), I don't blame them for not embracing that option. Also, I imagine the permits involved for that are daunting as well.

If they went right to the big dig there would have been no series. Even with the extremely watered down and filler heavy episodes this season it's still the highest rated cable program among several demographics on Tuesday nights. Gotta figure that until those numbers change History isn't going to fund the massive excavation project.
