What have you been wrong about this season regarding PSU?

I really wasn't sold on Parsons. It wasn't that I doubted his ability, but I suspected that he'd be a lot like LaVar was- especially early in his career when he was frequently in Joe's doghouse for being out of position and relying too much on his athleticism and too little on the scheme he was playing in.

I was wrong, I think Parsons has played very well and is where he needs to be far more often than not.

That PSU was going to reintroduce the FB position into the offense!

:);););):)

Rahne!
I thought he’d see a proctologist, and have his head removed from his rectum........I was wrong!
The last 5 games , this team will only go as far as his ability to call plays.

Nothing so far. 7-0 doesn’t surprise me. Half way through the season. Perhaps that we were able To close out two games on offense.
That is a good thing.

Wrong about;

  • Shorter having a breakout season and being the 1-2 punch w/KJ
  • Said we would only win 2 of 3 at most vs. this part of schedule ;)
    • We are winning Saturday 24-10
  • Thought Slade would be #1 back and would also breakout with most all-purpose yards (rush+receiving)

I think Parsons still does play like Lavar, relying on athleticism and instincts a lot, while making a ton of plays. He’s chasing people down as opposed to being in position. Still a great, generational player though.

So far so good. Preseason I predicted that we would go 10-2 in the regular season, with losses to Minnesota and Ohio State. I hope I am wrong and we go 12-0. I am glad to see us playing more players to develop depth and help keep our players fresher in the 4th quarter. More depth will pay off later in the season and even next year. I was wrong about Fields. I thought he would be a bust. Boy was I wrong about that.

Yeah Fields will be playing on Sundays

I thought the offense would go as far as the OL carried them.

The OL is playing very well, but the offense is still inconsistent. Really not at all sold on Ricky Rahne. Seems to be little in the way of an intermediate passing game, either long developing deep routes or swings out to the backs.

Wrong that the coaching staff would figure out a way to yak Iowa & Michigan in much the same manner that they've lost games in the past.

Also vastly underestimated how good this defense would be. I knew they'd be much improved but the speed has been an incredible eye-opener.

I thought Slade would be more effective. Some of the issue with him is probably more how they utilize him. Thought he would be used more in open spaces.
Also thought we would have 1 loss by now, which I was expecting to have occurred @ Iowa.
Pleased with record, but want to see more diversity in the offensive play calling and less reliance on blitzes by the defense. Our blitzes just don't seem to be hidden/timed very well.

Well, Ohio State is better than I thought, at least so far. I thought there would be adjustment problems with a new Head Coach and new QB.

Lamont Wade better than I expected, Shorter not an impact player so far.

I would have thought Slade would be our solid #1. IDK who foresaw a four man rotation with Slade maybe the 4th most productive.
The O is less consistent than I thought they’d be . D is more dominant .
Pleasantly surprised about our KO and FG teams . Not loving Blake and the rugby punts .

- Being able to beat Iowa and Michigan in the kind of tough, close games we had been losing, and thus, being 7 - 0.
- WR depth being a major disappointment.
- Wade being a solid contributor.
- Cam Brown having such a major impact as well.
- Jordan Stoudt.

I thought Shorter and Slade were gonna have a really good year statistically speaking but it hasn't happened yet. Other than that I think it's gone as I envisioned it would. I'm usually a pretty optimistic guy.

Thought our running game would be better what with a new QB, more experienced Oline, and a stable of quality backs. Figured we would run more first half of season until Clifford settled in. Thought JB would be #1, Cain #2 Slade #3 ( I don't get the love for Slade) with Ford....true freshman without spring ball... would be #4.

Thought we'd more than one top receiver and that Freiermuth would be more productive.

Parsons is playing great...no where near where Lavar played though..

Slade, Offensive and defensive line...I didn’t expect the o-line to struggle with run blocking like they have and I thought the d-line was going to be better at getting to the QB.

I thought the OL would struggle after Bates & McGovern left early. They have at times but not as much as I expected.

I thought DT was a bit thin after Givens left early. Shelton, Hansard, etc. have done well.

I hoped for more from Simmons & Shorter but there's still time.

I thought we'd lose 1 of Iowa, Michigan, and MSU. I hope that turns out to be a wrong prediction.

I agree. I thought Slade and Shrorter would break out.

I thought O’Neil would officiate all 12 PSU games.

I thought Board posters would learn it’s McSorley, not McSorely.

I thought Board posters would learn it’s Delany, not Delaney.

I HONESTLY thought we would beat Pitt by 4 TDs.
