USC defender clearly lowers his head and knocks himself and the Tulane wr out with vicious helmet to helmet hit. They look forever and call no targeting.

Then the officials call no catch on Tulane's TD catch when the ball never hit the ground. Announcers going nuts.

You just don’t understand. If you hit helmet to helmet with the crown it’s a danger and player safety issue. If you hit helmet to helmet with the top front of the helmet it’s totally ok. No player safety issue there. 🙄.

The targeting rule is so poorly done, not to mention that offensive players can lower their helmet and hit with the crown and it won’t be called (or will be called on the defender only).

I'm tracking. When the defender knocks himself and the wr out? No safety issue right?

I thought they made the right call…receiver was no longer defenseless, and the hit wasn’t with the crown of the helmet.
