Wondering how he would be doing had he stayed @ the Commodores. They would be happy with 7W/season but not the Lions.Quite frankly, there is nothing he can do that hasn't been for the upcoming season. He has demonstrated that he cannot manage a game real time. If he had the ability to learn how to manage the clock, he would have already. With an 11 year sample, it is clear he will simply not improve in this regard. Same for recruiting. We will continue to have massive holes in the roster and have multiple square pegs in round holes on both sides of the ball. He has shown he has the ability to hire a pragmatic offensive coordinator (which we currently do not have, especially in the portal era). He needs to find that ability on both sides of the ball but that is best left for the offseason. Bottom line, we are what we are and what we are looks like a repeat 7 win team.
BINGO.Call some of the posters on this board and get all the answers.
Uh this is Franklin’s 9th season at PSU coming up. Any more “wisdom” you want to share with us?Quite frankly, there is nothing he can do that hasn't been for the upcoming season. Nope, other than get ready for a five loss season. Franklin's overarching philosophy is flawed and not exactly compatible with Big Ten football. It has proven to work in the SEC but proven not to work in the Big Ten unless you are Ohio State.Uh this is Franklin’s 9th season at PSU coming up. Any more “wisdom” you want to share with us?
Well I’m sure he could cure all his problems if he just consulted with you.Nope, other than get ready for a five loss season. So obviously none of the other coaches in the Big 10 have the right philosophy either….interesting.Nope, other than get ready for a five loss season. Looking forward to 10 more years!Get his head out of his ass (crowded enough in there with all his acolytes) and focus on his job for a change.
I challenge you to quote the post where I advise CJF how to coach. I am here to learn football from some of the most accomplished couch coaches in the nation. Taking detailed notes about "metrics" and the consequences of pounding square pegs into round holes. It's all very fascinating.Just ask Marshall and AWS,
& can HCJF git ur done?
All the experienced and talented members of the NNNNNCAC are dedicated to helping CJF with his coaching and meet here every day. They are omniscient and omnipotent football minds honed by years of beer drinking and couch analyzing all the trends on the gridiron. You can't buy this sort of advice!Improve the o-line and running game. To his credit, he recognizes that these have been weak points of the teams he's coached
I walked out of the Cotton Bowl on 12/28/2019 feeling pretty damn good about PSU Football.....and I've seen the ups and downs since 1966.Every time I see the no #1 WR for 6 years thing I have to laugh. 15th overall picks aren't #1 guys I guess.
You tell em coach!Get his head out of his ass (crowded enough in there with all his acolytes) and focus on his job for a change.
Yeah, thought that was an incredibly stupid statement.Every time I see the no #1 WR for 6 years thing I have to laugh. 15th overall picks aren't #1 guys I guess.
Unlike some on here, I leave the coaching to the professionals.Just ask Marshall and AWS,
And I'm very confident that the PSU admins will not hesitate to pull the plug on him quickly if they feel his presence impacts their bottom line. They have shown that given the right circumstances they would be supplying a phone number for him to call regardless of terms left on his contract. That does instill some degree of confidence they will do the right thing.Unlike some on here, I leave the coaching to the professionals.
LOL wishin and hopin.....70 milion to buy out cjf and more to hire a new guy......LOL are you brain dead? And I'm very confident that the PSU admins will not hesitate to pull the plug on him quickly if they feel his presence impacts their bottom line. How much you think it cost them to remove Paterno? LOL, you've got a real short memory.LOL wishin and hopin.....70 milion to buy out cjf and more to hire a new guy......LOL are you brain dead?
10 more years.....James ain't going anywhere. How much you think it cost them to remove Paterno? LOL, you've got a real short memory.
Or, perhaps you think the BoT is reluctant to spend large amounts of money. Bwhaaa!!!
Me too....but sadly the only way we will ever see 1 and 2 again will be on old game films. Nothing says football to me like a fullback stepping on the toes of a LB.What will happen and what I'd like to see happen aren't relatively close.
- I'd love to see a FB on the field. A nasty dude to lead block, pass block, run some wham, and catch a few balls in the flat.
- I'd love to see the scheme adjusted to help the OL. Plays designed for OL to fire out so they're not always on their heels trying to stop penetration.
- Minimize plays with zero yards gained or loss of yards. Above two adjustments should help there. This, in turn, helps extend drives and keeps the D fresh.
Make sure he has a 2nd team QB ready to play with the big boys.& can HCJF git ur done?
How many #1 receivers get shut down by corners in single coverage? The answer is none but it happened routinely last year to said 15th pick.Every time I see the no #1 WR for 6 years thing I have to laugh. 15th overall picks aren't #1 guys I guess.
Should be pretty easy for NFL teams to defend then. How many #1 receivers get shut down by corners in single coverage? The answer is none but it happened routinely last year to said 15th pick.
Easy to shut down any receiver with a bad O line and an injured QB.How many #1 receivers get shut down by corners in single coverage? The answer is none but it happened routinely last year to said 15th pick.
You are talking out of your ass again. Guy had 90 plus catches was most productive vs Ohio State. Not to mention a first round draft choice in the NFL.....Now you profess to be more knowledgeable than CJF..... but substituting your couch coach knowledge for NFL scouts and coaching is quite a leap.....even for someone as delusional as you.How many #1 receivers get shut down by corners in single coverage? Someone is a square peg trying to fit into a round hole......LOLJahan Dotson College Gamelog | College Football at Sports-Reference.com

Curious which game he was shut down.
Michigan was probably his worst game if you put things into perspective.
Considering we couldn't run, at all, last year, it's quite the feat that Dotson had 1100+ yards.
But yes. Let's talk about how great Geno Lewis was. He's the #1 who got away...(and never became more than a #3).
