Where does this rank in the worst blown leads during the Franklin era?

That 5-13 record is the crusher. Michigan has been in down years most of that time. MIchigan State losses have been horrible. The Ohio State losses hurt the worst b/c 2 of them should have been wins. And the QB who killed us was once committed to us. I don't expect to dominate OSU, but we should play them straight up and win 50 percent of those. Michigan State should be a rare loss. Michigan can't get out of their own way and we still can't go there and consistently win. Frustrating.
To be fair, if you include record against Wisconsin and Iowa CJF’s record looks better. Not great, but certainly better.

Remember these? Did they talk about firing Dabo or did they all just pray more?

Bellicheat just got blown out and said it was his worst loss in 21 years. Fire his ass?
Big difference between Dabo, BB and Franklin.. Could JF eventually put himself in that group, possibly..

Remember big game James is 9-14 vs. ranked teams with only 1 win on the road vs. Iowa last year.
While I certainly would say last weekend’s game was the worst grasping defeat from the jaws of victory PSU game of my life with coaching decisions playing a huge part in it, the ranked stat is misleading and arguably incorrect.

Misleading in that the depleted rosters of the ‘14 and ‘15 seasons basically change his record from approximately .500 to something well below. In addition, PSU did win at Northwestern in ‘17. NW finished 10-3 and ranked 17th, just because they were underrated when PSU played them doesn’t mean it wasn’t a good win.

That said, I had hoped last years 4-1 record in close games was an indication of things changing from the .500 type of results in these games Franklin had performed at. Sadly, that may have been an anomaly.
