That was a great video! It is so interesting to me that the day before Cael had to give his answer to Penn State if he was going to take the position or not, Cael, his father, Cody and Casey had all felt Cael should stay at ISU. That night, though, Cael spent time praying to God about the decision. Per the video: "I spent the night on my knees in prayer, and sometime in the middle of the night decided that we were going to Penn State. That was it. As difficult as it would be, I didn't question that it was the correct decision again. Early in the morning I told Coach Cody and Coach Casey that we were going to Penn State. They said, 'Ok, let's do it.' I called Tim Curley and told him we were coming."
If you know anything about Cael and this program, both are faith based.

You're conflating copyright concepts with trademark law. The concept of the public domain is exclusive to copyright and has no bearing on trademark disputes--trademarks never enter the public domain. Fair use of trademarks is permissible but the parody exception is pretty narrow. I don't believe Basch ever trademarked his logo (or any of his products, which seems odd given how natural he is at promotion) but that doesn't mean he couldn't get relief because the ultimate consideration is whether consumers are confused.
It's all fairly academic because the cost of litigation exceeds the potential amount in dispute by many zeroes, but it's a fun academic exercise nonetheless. Judges analyzing parody in fair use contexts look closely at whether there's some actual commentary on the source; it's not enough to humorously use someone's trademark. This issue is actually before the Supreme Court right now, where Jack Daniels is suing a manufacturer of a dog toy that was clearly intended to look like a Tennessee Whiskey bottle called "Bad Spaniels." No decision yet but oral arguments went poorly for the dog toy maker.

I'd hazard to say a niche wrestling world knows Jagger's M.O. and knows Basch's podcast logo. This niche defines those who are likely to have seen the Tweet from Jagger (since Basch replied to it). Maybe a few more since you posted it here.
But the bottom line for me is that clicking on the Tweet pic doesn't start a podcast. That makes it pretty clear to me it's a parody.

It wasn't immediately clear to me and I'm familiar with both parties. Maybe if it was funnier, I dunno. But the relevant question isn't whether people familiar with them both were confused, it'd be whether wrestling fans generally were likely to be confused--anyone who Basch might target as a potential downloader of his podcast, for instance.
I think it's almost certainly TM infringement but not actionable because damages are likely nonexistent.

I found it a little odd that a long official press release issued by HWC announcing the signings of SLee and Warner contained zero quotes from SLee or Warner. Thanks. You're 100% for wrestling. I was too lazy to look up Michigan and Iowa BJC recaps for actual attendance. Basically I went by faulty memory and rounded it to 500.
Also, sometimes you have to throw them a bone, so as to not add so much salt to the wound (mixing my metaphors).
Maybe someone from GIA will take the opportunity to correct me to show me what a moran I am. 😉
