Why the running clock during the B/W game?

Why the running clock during the B/W game yesterday? With the running clock, there wouldn't even be 1o minutes of football, just 10 minutes.

Also, while I'll rant. Why weren't the water fountains turned on?
 
The clock is no different from previous years or what other schools do. Pretty much everyone runs the clock until the last two minutes of the half and the coach will sometimes stop it to simulate game situations. Remember, it was just a scrimmage.
 
because they dont have a full team and dont want people to get hurt??
