This is exactly what people said about Beard and Dean, too. Facundo would either beat out Wittlake or push him to be a national champ.
I did not say that. My take was having Dean in the room would drive Beard towards improving certain techniques and achieving elite cardio making Beard a title threat. Or Dean competing with an improving Beard and training daily with Jake, Cael, Casey, DT, Aaron, Carter and Kerk would be a threat to win the title. Either outcome was something I was good with.
Turns out I was right.
So me saying Wittlake most likely would not beat out Facundo is not "like what people said about Dean and Beard.
First, Wittlake is not Max Dean nor is he ever going to be so Wittlake doesn't present the assumed Lion starter the same threat to his starting position.
Second, Facundo doesn't struggle with cardio.
Third, Wittlake would be trying to recover his health.
Wittlake I am certain would be welcome to come to Happy Valley, train and learn inside Lorenzo and compete for the starting position at 165 or 174. If he would come (which he isn't) I would actually expect him to spend the year training, eating, getting healthy and strong and then in 2 years maybe fill in at 174 if Carter bumped a weight or maybe took an ORS.
What would not happen is Wittlake beating out Facundo for the spot at 165.
