I haven’t seen a lot of Van Ness, and I don’t want to jinx the young man, but he reminds me of Nolf. Relentless. A joy to watch.the real deal.. Unless he redshirts he is in.

I don’t think Starocci ever sees 165. I was hoping that Facundo could make the weight next year, but that might be wishful thinking. SVN at 149 seems likely.Way too early for this one but I'll play. I think we could shirt Beau and run with SVN at 149, move Carter down to 165, and bring in Facundo at 174. I know know you don't move a NC down. Maybe. Carter looks small to me, at least 10 lbs by the eye test vs Kemerer. Maybe Kem has a huge cut. More importantly, SVN looks like he may be one of those top 4 guys out of the gate who could serve as a better choice than Beau who is Nick's heir apparent at 141.
I think the above may (way to Prematurely) give us the strongest lineup next year. Yes, I think Carter down a weight is better than Joe and then some, and Facundo will prove to big for 165.
That said I think it is also possible to go a completely other direction.
With Iowa returning the whole friggin team of geriatrics, there is an equal chance we shirt everyone we can RBY, Howard, Beau, SVN, Facundo, and even Brooks and Kerk(?) - I know,
I know you don't shirt National champs. Let Cornell and Michigan chase down the old men.
That said, with this lineup starting in 2022/23 we probably win 3 straight with multiple national champs scattered throughout the lineup.
I would be bummed not to see these kids next year but wow would that build a wave potentially bigger than the last one.
Check this...unless you're from Philly. We are the fans. It is our job to be supportive of the team and coaches.
What kind of message board do you think we run over here?Starocci is not going 165 next year and Facundo is not a competitive 174 as a true freshman. If this were to happen, everyone on this forum would be bitching about Facundo being a bust and Starocci having no gas tank. Let the coaches coach. We are the fans. It is our job to be supportive of the team and coaches.
As a certifiable negadelphian, I would second that thought.Check this...unless you're from Philly.
LolWhat kind of message board do you think we run over here?
The fans' job is to know more than Cael Freaking Sanderson at all times, and behave accordingly.
I know coach Cael has a plan for Facundo, I just hope he's not like Mason Manville and will have a spot somewhere. He's too talented.I swear he looked small to me vs Valencia at 170. Hard to say if he’s done growing or not, but I don’t necessarily see him as a true freshman starter. I’m also not ready to throw Joe Lee away. He surely didn’t seem himself this weekend. But he has better days ahead, and seems to have the “right attitude.”
Those weights are filled. Now that it appears that 125 is filled, PSU has work to figure out 149, 157, and 165. Yes, 149 will be discussed to death till next season but can Berge and JLee get into the top 5 of their weight class? Are others viable options like Boone and Manville? They will need everyone in top 3 form to compete with the Iowa lineup assuming they all return.
You did something real sneaky in there and I just wanna say that I caught it and I'm here for it.Way too early for this one but I'll play. If we start reserving spots for people and not allowing the process to play out, the cael era is over.I know coach Cael has a plan for Facundo, I just hope he's not like Mason Manville and will have a spot somewhere. He's too talented.

I don't want a spot to be reserved either. Let the best man get the spot. However, if CStar, Brooks, Beard (from 74 thru 97) have secured a spot (IMHO), the only place I can think of is perhaps 65 (if Facundo can make it). Yes, I am in the company who thinks JLee's spot is not quite secured yet, but he's still young and can still improve. So it will be interesting to see the battles for the spots in the coming years. If we start reserving spots for people and not allowing the process to play out, the cael era is over.
As much as manville, Neville, Gingrich, shaq, etc, etc, etc situations suck it's why we have the best room and win nattys.
As long as everyone understands the situation up front I'm all for it
I have it on good authority that Cael not only reads this board daily, but that he has an account (anonymous of course) and posts regularly. In private he will acknowledge that many of "his" best decisions over the years have in fact originated on this very board. It’s always been my opinion that a little speculation and chatter on a message board is solely for entertainment and in no way whatsoever inhibits the coaches’ ability to coach. Call me crazy.

Other than "Let the coaches coach" saying, where do you see Facundo fit in?

Someone on this board, a couple weeks ago, said Facundo would be greyshirting.
Spyker at one time?I have it on good authority that Cael not only reads this board daily, but that he has an account (anonymous of course) and posts regularly. In private he will acknowledge that many of "his" best decisions over the years have in fact originated on this very board.
Be so cool if cael had an alternate personality for the boards and used it to just make a mess of the boards for personal enjoyment.I have it on good authority that Cael not only reads this board daily, but that he has an account (anonymous of course) and posts regularly. And get that PA residency. This is probably a good idea. I think some has mentioned, the kid literally has a frame to go 197 if he wants.
Thats tricky too cuz by then (if he ever shirts) RBY may jump to 141 to make room for Steen and RoHo.Let him go 149 and allow Bartlett to RS next year. The following season Bartlett at 141 and Van Ness at 149 if they can hold weight. Otherwise bump them up in the lineup to 149/157.
Casey Cunningham could have been Spyker, as he does love his. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😏Spyker at one time?
The real question is if Van Ness wrestles 149 and wins a national championship, how many more times will a recruit Sasso thread appear?I'm already not looking forward to the multitude of 149 threads next season.
