Wisconsin Dual...

Interesting timing. Wonder if any of our 125s or Beard get back by then.

Timing makes me wonder if the team ever flew back from NW. Madison is about 2.5 hrs from Evanston ... at least if you can avoid Chicago traffic peaks.

If the team never returned, then the answer is self-evident.
Not necessarily, Howard is with the team, if his was a timing issue for the medical release the clock could have clicked over. I guess we will find out.

No clue. But at least there is a glimmer of a chance at 125.

this is the start of the press release.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State Nittany Lions (1-0, 1-0 B1G), ranked No. 3 in the latest InterMat Tournament Power Index, will head directly to Madison, Wis., to get ready for a dual with the Wisconsin Badgers (1-3, 1-3 B1G) on Tuesday, Feb. 2.

I take the direct comment to mean they stayed out of state.

Edit, reading further it says they stayed in Chicago

With Penn State in Chicago after winning two duals at Northwestern, the team will now head to Madison to take on the Badgers on Tuesday afternoon at 5 p.m. Eastern / 4 p.m. Central (local).

i guess it is worth reading the entire story before posting.

We (Chicago) just got blasted with a foot of snow that started yesterday around 5 pm CST and hasn't stopped since. So maybe they ran into some issues trying to get out of town, and decided to stay put and go Tuesday.

I always thought that much snow was known as a dusting out there.

Hope everyone brought a few extra pairs of drawers 😬

Is that a B1G press release? PSU is 2-0 overall and 2-0 in B1G. The B1G also failed to list PSU in their "ranked top 6 teams in B1G Standings" piece during the B1G televised Iowa-ILL dual today. They listed several teams with 2 wins and multiple losses, but no 2-0 PSU in their listing of top 6 in B1G Standings LMAO.

Rumor has it.....someone from Texas Appealed to the Supreme Court to nullify the results from Indiana wrestling duals.....claiming they violated state law.......although in their legal briefs.....they referred to them duels. Easy mistake :)

Umm, worse, it was a PSU release on their sports web site, gopsusports.com. I didn’t even catch the record. But they certainly should have....

Just throwing this out there with no idea if this would be permitted/approved by the conference/schools. Rutgers is hosting Indiana, Nebraska, and Michigan State in a quad this coming weekend where PSU is now off. Any chance they alter the schedule as follows. PSU makes up its matches, it will be the closest thing RU and MSU have to simulating the Big 10 Tournament, and I get more value for my $15 BTN subscription this month. Everybody wins, especially us!

PSU-Rutgers-MSU Tri on either Saturday or Sunday and have the following duals on the alternate day?

Rutgers vs. Nebraska
Rutgers vs. Indiana
Michigan State vs. Nebraska
Michigan State vs. Indiana
Nebraska vs. Indiana

EDIT: Actually make the tri Sunday just to avoid the excuse of travel since those four were going to wrestle on Saturday anyway.

Same thing is happening in SC so they would have had trouble getting home in any case.

Brooks gets Weiler, Nevills gets Hilger. That’s about it for interesting matches. Unless Howard is ready to go against Barnett at 125.

Hopefully Starocci feels better and is able to pad his resume. Maybe Wick will come out of RS and go at 174.

No Wick. Model who's 3-1 at 157 beat Cleary 3-2 pinned Licking and lost 14-10 to Coleman so look for 157 to be competitive.

I think he will be fine. Sometimes the adjustment to live counted matches take some time. Guys need to control their breathing and not get too amped.

Perhaps Beard can join the team if he's cleared to go. I know Howard is already there.
Are teams limited to a maximum number of 20 wrestlers permitted to travel? Got to wonder when this rematch with Wisky was first scheduled -- Was it before or after they left for the trip to Chicago?

I guess it is possible he is with the team already, 17 guys wrestled a match on Saturday, we know Howard also traveled, that leaves two others, maybe Beard and Kerk? Who knows.....

though 20 max is for a tri-meet, I believe a dual is less, what about a dual stretched out after a tri, do they have to send someone home? Or wait at the hotel?

anyone remember the dual travel number?

I believe it might have been Cenzo's first match at Rec Hall that I recall he got hit with a headlock and I think lost. He turned out to be "fairly good" after that!

Close -- Cenzo got headlocked twice in the first period of that match.
