Finish Him Mortal Kombat GIF

I agree both his feet were OB after the kickout, but how are you claiming that's not stalling? He fled the mat to avoid being taken down - that is defined directly in the Rulebook as stalling. He left the mat and went OB by his own choice to avoid a TD hold... that is textbook stalling.
I agree that's the rule.

However, just because it's a rule doesn't mean it isn't a stupid rule. Caught in that situation, the defensive wrestler's options are to back into the aggressor and give up the takedown, or to kick out and give up the stall call.

The rule should be for running away, not kicking out of a hold. Why should that be stealing at the edge, but if he did it center mat, it would be fine?

Most likely what hit Poznanski in the third period was the message sent by being on the receiving end of a very dominant, two-minute second-period rideout, and the energy expended trying to escape it. Likely a brand new experience for the veteran, especially when considering it was laid on him by a redshirt freshman.
That ride was definitely gas consuming, and added to Josh's Nolf like head snaps. I don’t remember seeing a pretty good competitor just break and quit like that. Of course I can't remember seeing a kid have another kid on the ropes like Josh had Poz and just keep pounding the way Josh did.

Please explain who that little fat f$$k is. I'm not a social media guy.
I’ve never seen or heard from him until last night. Rutgers introduced him before match and crowd went wild.

I texted my 19 yr old son and asked if he knows who the Rizzler is. He immediately texted back, “NO WAY, Get a pic with him!” I was like, “yeah,no”

Apparently he a big hit with the younger crowd

The stall wasn't called when he kicked out. The stall was called when PSU stepped towards Rutgers and Rutgers did not make an effort to work back into the wrestling area. What I am saying is after kicking out the Rutgers kid turned to face PSU and when he did his feet were off the mat and on the floor. That is an immediate whistle to stop the action. No way he should be calling anything after a competitor leaves the mat. I throw the brick. If the official tells me he called the stall because of fleeing I say OK.

To be fair, Barr scored two techs apparently. He was up 19-4 before releasing Poz and they never called the tech. Allowed him to wrestle one more catch and release.
Yeah I noticed that, but figured by that point Josh was literally just running wind sprints around Poz and the scorekeeper was too busy marking everything down to actually keep up with the numbers.

Sounds about right..but still how..

Training through is a possible answer for the close match at 174, but I think Turley deserves credit for wrestling tough.

Levi won't always have the same strength advantage he enjoyed at 157 and might have to gut out more matches like this against top-20 guys.
I think Rutgers wrestled tough top to bottom. Poz even wrestled Josh tough until he couldn't wrestle any longer. PSU just wrestled a little tired. Acknowledging PSU was a tad worn isn't said to take away anything from Rutgers. The next time Levi and Turley wrestle though, if I was betting I would be more inclined to think Levi will be more productive.

Shocking performance by Luke. Could not get thru Peterson's head hand defense. Didn't get to legs once? Vs a non AA? Wow. Lack of fight with :17 left on the restart is also alarming. Does our non AA at 125 continue this year?
Luke will be fine. Actually I would expect we see a completely different level freshman starting Friday night.

Cenzo's 2nd national finals vs. Martinez.

When Martinez had (likely) spent the entire year training against the double-overs throw, and Cenzo hit it anyway, you could see Martinez crumple like a cheap accordion. "Quit" might be a little strong, but he had nothing the rest of the match. The air was out of the balloon.

Great night! Just got home. Had seats 3 rows behind scorer table right next to RU bench.

Takeaways..Rizzler a big hit (I never heard of him before tonight)

No injuries so my curse is broken.

Just read thru comments. Everyone kind of spot on..only headscratcher to me was Kerks match. Neither guy did nothing, very strange match from him.

If you can see the look on Poz face after that match as he headed toward tunnel..as other have said, Barr absolutely broke him.

Peterson smiling ear to ear the whole match. At least one RU guy went home happy. Only RU guy that impressed me tonight was Turley. I would have bet anything on bonus points there.

Great crowd, RU fans electric after Peterson win, got quiet after Shawver and rest of night.

That kid's parents are guilty of child abuse. He'll be on Crestor and Lisinopril before high school.

That's just sad.

People are f'ing stupid. That's the reason. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Remember. By definition the average IQ is 100 which means 50% of the population minus that one exact perfectly average person has a 2 digit IQ (all integers never rounded up). The next time you are listening to somebody who strikes you as a complete dumbass remember there is a 50-50 chance they are a 2 digit IQ dumbass.

I told that to a fried who used to teach high level math to the gifted in high school. His comment was, "yeah, but in reality if their IQ isn't at least 110 they are all pretty f$%king stupid."

Came across the PSU/Rutgers article recapping the match. Found this tidbit fascinating...
"We probably underestimated them a little bit on the mat,'' Goodale said. "They were really good on top. We struggled on the mat.''

How is it possible to underestimate PSU?

That does not see to be a good strategy in recruiting, when you state out loud that you "underestimated".

Assume Goodale was mostly referring to the three instances where Rutgers chose down and were then ridden out the entire period. Happened at 133, 157, and 197.

Careful my friend, he might just be a make a wish kid getting his wish mat side. You never know, but he was garnering some attention so there may just be a tear jerker of a story there.

Rizzler is a "social media influencer".
He probably makes well over $100k a year as an 8 year old kid making videos. (Estimated net worth is $500k!)
Prior to seeing him on TV at the match I did not know he existed. I did an internet search for the info.
Oh then, happy tears!

mat awareness. same with shooting - do it in the middle better chance you don't go out of bounds. Wrestle on the edge and you risk such escape issues

Maybe coaches should be issued a red brick and a white towel to start a match. Goodale could of thrown towel to save Poz.
Many years ago Eddie Futch threw the towel in at the start of 15th round to protect Frazier against Ali in the 3rd fight.
My college wrestling coach threw the towel on one of my teammates who was stalling so badly that coach had had enough of it. Our coach had been frustrated with him pretty much all season for his lackadaisical wrestling. Coach was pretty laid back, but he had had enough of the stalling that day. He was livid.
