My Satellite radio kept saying 'loading' and wouldnt come on. This was intermittent, but was rather frequent. So I took it to the shop. They said they found corrosion on the antennae, and replaced the antennae under warranty (2018 GMC Acadia Denali) . So all was good for a day. Then Saturday morning while out it says 'loading'. Sunday it fired right up, today on the way to work, it says 'loading' the whole time for my commute of 10 minutes. it seems if I shut the car off and let it sit, then it works again when I start up the car.

Could this be somehow temperature related? Saturday AM it was in the 30's, as it was this AM, but Sunday it was in the 50s by the time I got to my car.

TIA

I had a problem that it wouldn't load for the whole day. Called them and they told me to log in and send the refresh signal. That fixed it.

Take it back, make sure you get a loaner since it's under warranty. Save all your repair receipts, you are rapidly approaching lemon law territory. Just google your state and lemon law. Its quite enlightening.

while listening to the Eagles and my satellite radio goes out, while the Eagles are getting ready to win another SuperBowl might cause serious injury, I dont think this would fall under a lemon law. That said maybe they will need to replace the whole kit and kabbalah, we will see. Thanks for the thoughts.

What Is a "Lemon" in West Virginia?
Simply put, lemons in West Virginia are any passenger vehicles that are sold new to a consumer in the state but are flawed and unable to be repaired after a reasonable number of attempts.

If the vehicle can't be repaired within the terms of the warranty after a reasonable number of attempts, you may have a lemon. Additionally, your vehicle will generally need to have a defect that either:

  • Significantly reduces the market resale value of the car.
  • Makes it unsafe to drive and likely to cause a serious injury or even death.
  • Impairs the normal function of the car.
"Reasonable repair attempts" are defined as:

  • 1 attempt for conditions that could result in death or serious bodily injury.
    AND
  • 3 attempts for all other conditions.

Yep, if you bought it new it definitely falls under lemon law territory. If they don't fix it after the second repair attempt, I'd start looking in the phone book for lemon law or consumer attorneys. They will answer your questions for free and also provide a free consultation. If they don't, just call a different one. I used to live down near Huntington, WV, although I found my attorney in Charleston. I wouldn't get mad at the dealership, or even bring it to their attention. Their solution is to just sell you another car. Just keep collecting the repair receipts that show you having the same problem being worked on and you're good. If you hit that repair threshold, remedies include buyback or a brand new vehicle (even a much higher upgrade) plus all attorney fees.

1. Your car is not driveable while it's being repaired.

2. It keeps racking up hits in those repair databases decreasing its resale value.

Don't believe me? Call up an attorney. Ask yourself a simple question, if you tried to trade in the vehicle would the dealership give you more or less if something didn't work.

You're so sensible sometimes.

As an aside, for intermittent problems, grab your phone and make a short 5-10 second video of the problem. Just say the date and time of the occurrence in the video and you are fine. It is also very helpful for the mechanics to see exactly what is going on.

Do you work part time for an attorney?

No, but I've had 2 lemon law cases, one in NC with ford, and another in WV with GM. Neither made it to court as both companies preferred to settle. Documentation is key, which in my profession is pretty much required anyways. Also, I had a couple of classes with Professor Jack Mcwhirter who made it a point to convey how important it was to learn the jobs of the people around you. The prickly attitude just comes naturally.

if you have SiriusXM, sometimes there is a fuse that you need to pull and re-insert and it just works thereafter.
