Darn! Sadulaev is not in Snyder’s weight class. We won’t get the rematch.

Ramos bumping up to 61kg is probably a good move at this point given how things have gone at 57kg. It also sets up further potential Iowa-on-Iowa violence with Cory Clark, though it seems unlikely they'd both reach the finals; could meet in consis though.

Do they do a real consolation bracket at Yarigin, or is it UWW's nonesense all the way?

I just hate that malarkey. It's like these guys don't want to wrestle....

How long ago did that happen then? I can't imagine an NCAAs without the consis. Granted, they haven't been critical to PSU's success recently, but there's so much drama there.

Without out actually looking it up thru the early to mid 70s the consys were limited to those that lost to the finalists. Sometime in the early 80s that was expanded to those that lost to the semi finalists and in the late 80s we went to the full consys. I'd have to go thru the brackets to say exactly what year each happened.

1986 was the first year EVERYONE dropped to wrestle-backs. Prior to that, it's as NoVa described.

57 kg intrigue: Who beats Peker?

Taylor will be there to represent in 2020. Most know this already. Cox should as well. DT will be fine. He will not put the matches in the Refs hands as he stated.

I was watching mat a and c for a bit then started receiving gateway timeouts...

Clark up in 7 on Mat B Perrelli up in 10 on Mat A Ramos up in 11 on Mat B Anthony up in 17 on Mat B Molinaro up in 20 on Mat C Ragan up in 23 on Mat A

Fall for Ramos at 5:56. Cradled him up. Moves on to the 61kg quarters where he will face Rashidov (RUS). Tall task ahead.

Perelli wins 3-3 on criteria. Both had takedowns. Perelli had a pushout with about 5 seconds to go.

Upcoming

mat assignments
Molinaro on deck on Mat C Ramos up in 4 on Mat B Ragan up in 5 on Mat A Perrelli up in 8 on Mat A

Waiting for repechage: Anthony, Clark

Molinaro 11-0 over the Mongolian. Close to the pin several times. Really opened it up in the second period. Used some folkstyle turns from top.

Molinaro faces 2016 World champ Magomed Kurbanaliev (RUS) in the 70kg semifinals. Kurbanaliev is looking very good thus far.

Molinaro up now.

70 KG semifinals:

103 | Mat C Israil KASUMOV (RUS) vs. Magomedrasul GAZIMAGOMEDOV (RUS) 102 | Mat C Frank MOLINARO (USA) vs. Magomed KURBANALIEV (RUS)

57 KG semifinals coming soon:

30 | Mat A Tsogbadrakh TSEVEENSUREN (MGL) vs. Azamat TUSKAEV (RUS) 29 | Mat A Frank PERRELLI IV (USA) vs. Zavur UGUEV (RUS)

Molinaro loses 8-5. Perelli loses 8-3. Both put up good fights. Molinaro had a chest lock from standing for 4. Tried it again but it failed and he gave up two subsequent turns.

Ali Ragan into the finals, 9-6. Nice win. Chance for gold against the winner of Bulgaria and China match. I guess the Japanese women aren't at the tournament.

Frank Perrelli will be the first match up on Mat A at some point soon, wrestling for bronze.

I got shut out at the UWW site (blocked to my geographic location) but Flo has all three youtube streams on its page here, and they work for me. Alli Ragan is going for gold, and Frank and Tony Ramos will wrestle for bronze.

Ragan got tech'd 0-10. Perrelli lost a close one 3-5.
