I just got to the beach for a Bacherlor weekend (I’ll still be keeping in touch throughout) but this one was a shocker as Josh Johnson commits to Louisville. We and everyone was under the impression it was all Penn State. Kids will be kids. Not the first kid to dupe writers. Not the last.

Figured we had cycling and hockey already so maybe we have some cricket fans on the board as well.

The 2024 T20 World Cup just started this past weekend, being co-hosted by USA and West Indies. USA won their first match against Canada and just completed their bowling innings against Pakistan, holding them to a reasonable 159 runs. Beating Pakistan would be an incredible achievement, as USA is 18 and Pakistan is up at 6 in the T20 rankings.

I was at the Sri Lanka vs South Africa match on Monday in NYC as it lined up with the end of our cruise. Being honest, the experience was a bit disappointing, mostly due to the stadium, but I was happy to finally attend my first match.

Shoulda been canned at the end of last season. No playoff wins in eight years. Only three playoff wins in thirteen years. Eleven out out of thirteen years without a playoff win. And all that with several first round NFL Hall of Fame players.

Last year had to fire OC midseason. Had two receivers refuse to block on run plays. One wouldn’t even run routes on run plays. Started two QBs that were horrendous. Whole team in disarray.

Finally plays third string QB….who looked great in preseason games…..after starter gets injured. 3rd stringer wins three in a row and the miraculously make playoffs. He has solid second half at Buffalo in terrible cold and wind but comes up short.

So the 3rd string guy plays far better than the previous two. Players praise him profusely .Leads team to playoffs. Saves Tomlin’s job. So after season ends idiot Tomlin says Pickett is still the starter next year.

So with all that…….the Rooneys give him a three year extension 🥴

Went into the OSU Medical Center yesterday, for my annual physical, wearing a PSU t shirt. The nurse, in her 40s, saw my t shirt and made the comment, "My brother went to Penn State." I asked if he played football, and she replied, " Yes, but he got in trouble and was kicked off the team." Then she added, "He's dead now." I expressed my condolences , then asked his name. She mumbled something I didnt quite make out but didnt push the issue for obvious reasons. I have no other info. The conversation turned to my annual physical, ending the football talk.

Ever since, Ive been trying to recall who her brother might have been. Anyone have any ideas? My guess is this would have happened between 1994 and 2004 give or take a couple years. Id also guess the player was a frosh or soph. No idea what position. The nurse is stocky, white or latino, and big boned,

So to all of you Sherlock Holmeses out there....any ideas who she might be talking about?

Oh, one more thing. FWIW: The nurse apparently was born and raised in NH, only recently moving to Columbus OH to be near her relatives.
