Iowa discussions for 2024-25

(Mod note - locking the Bird thread as it's run its course over the last 4 years. There will be an annual Iowa thread for related news, discussions, rumors, lineups, match notes, etc. before the start of each season.

Sorry, if already posted, but with all the off-season changes what is Iowa's projected lineup?
125 - Peterson
133 - Ayala
141 - Block
149 - Parco
157 - Teemer
165 - Cali
174 - Arnold/Kennedy
184 - Brands
197 - Buchanan
285 - Kueter

Good news! We're safe

from having to play in the Big 10 Championship game:

"The only way Penn State could meet Oregon in the title game is if the Nittany Lions win out, Indiana loses to Ohio State and Purdue while the Buckeyes lose to Michigan, or Indiana loses to Ohio State, beats Purdue and the cumulative conference winning percentage of all conference opponents for Penn State is higher than Indiana's (provided Ohio State still loses to Michigan)."

Evans, Fleming and Clifford

The last 3 weeks have combined for a total of 45 yards. These guys are just wasting reps right now. Completely dominated by a pathetic Purdue secondary. I really don’t care if you put Reynolds in WR positions if he’s able, play Tyseer Denmark, or give more targets to Dinkins. But these 3 starting receivers are just not getting it done right now and their reps need to be reduced.

At this point we should mainly be doing 2 TE sets.

Policies complimentary or conflicting??

Looking at some of the proposed Trump econ plans it seems there could be some that either conflict or are complimentary in producing unwanted impacts.

Consider how some will operate and their impacts - there are a number of permutations:
renewing the tax cuts
tariffs
mass deportations
pushing for lower interest rates
doing away with Fed independence
downsizing government workforce
eliminating whole government departments
encouraging increased oil drilling

For your consideration. Could these policies result in higher inflation and a recession?

FB Recruiting Ohio State Offers Penn State Commit

Wednesday afternoon, 2025 defensive end commit Chaz Coleman announced that he has received an offer from Ohio State. The three-star prospect committed to Penn State following an official visit to Happy Valley for the White Out Game earlier this month. We will do some digging to see where things now stand in Coleman's recruitment, but, obviously, an Ohio kid picking up a late offer from the Buckeyes is less than optimal for the Nittany Lions.

Dunia Sibomana Commits to UNC

For those of you who are unaware of who he is: Dunia Sibomana came to the US when he was 8 years old after suffering horrific injuries to his hands and face in a chimpanzee attack that also killed his cousin and brother. He's from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

This young man has a pretty amazing story.

He just committed to UNC, where he's expected to wrestle at 125lbs. He's currently the #5 113lb wrestler in the country, per Flo. Regardless of how he does at the next level, he'll be getting a degree from a great school, and that's pretty damn good. I wish him the best of luck.

Why Dems Can't Admit Their Woke Madness Went Too Far

LOL....

Did you know the best way to better educate our children is to lower educational standards? Or the best way to make society safer for everyone is not to charge, prosecute or jail criminals (especially criminals of color)? And it is a really great idea for public educators not to tell parents that their son or daughter is having issues with their identity? The best idea yet is to let dude in dresses beat on women in THEIR competition.

Democrats are in the same position as someone who knows they're very sick but can't for the life of them figure out what the problem is. Could it be that golf ball-sized lump on their head? Perhaps it's the bleeding from their ear that's related to the cause.

The truth is, Democrats know damn well what the problem with their party is but they have so much invested in identity politics, gender craziness, and woke culture that if they gave it all up, they'd have to do something they'd rather die than do.

They'd have to admit they were wrong about all of it.

And for the arrogant elitists who have spent their careers looking down their nose at us plebes, it would just be too bitter a pill to swallow. So they search frantically — not for the most plausible or the actual reasons for their drubbing but for an explanation that sounds reasonable enough to pass muster with the rest of the far left.
