FB Recruiting Rivals250 offensive lineman to visit Penn State after recent offer

Donovan Catholic (NJ.) offensive tackle and the No. 205 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class Kai Pritchard will be one of the highest-profile prospects in attendance on Saturday afternoon when the Nittany Lions take on Bowling Green. Pritchard is also the second-ranked player in New Jersey, as well as the 22nd ranked offensive tackle in the country, according to Rivals.

Mod(s)

I wasn't sure how to reach you directly, but I just wanted to thank you for the work you do here. I appreciate you keeping the threads on point and making sure posts get placed in the appropriate threads or duplicates get deleted. I also wanted to personally apologize for creating work for you since I have made several of these errors recently. I will endeavor to do better!

This year's bank pins, probably the weakest yet.

I was a little late with my State College Food Bank contribution this year so the Pins just arrived today. Somebody is going to have to explain several of these to me.

West Virginia - Stuck at Base Camp (?)
Bowling Green - Beaver Stadium = NO FLY ZONE (I get it. They are the Falcons.)
Kent State - Trash the Flash (Got it - Golden Flashes)
Illinois - Pop Da Champagne (Ok - makes sense)
UCLA - Bruins Hibernate Early ( No history with UCLA so we can still be a little original.)
USC - All Helmet, No Heart (?)
Wisconsin - Cheddah Ain't Bettah (I'll take it. Actually not bad.)
Ohio State - Don't it Make your Buckeye's Blue? (Recycled and why is there an apostrophe?)
Washington - Huskies Sledding on Thin Ice (It's a white pin for the white out.)
Purdue - Call the Repairman (A really vague reference to a broken boiler.)
Minnesota - Lions win, you betcha! (I like it.)
Maryland - Testudon't (Really - WTF!)

Maybe they should seek suggestions from this board next year.

CBS reporter says Penn State underrated in AP rankings

He also says Michigan was overrated after Week One vote. Link below.

Of course the rankings...whether we're #8 or 7 or 6...don't mean a lot at this point.

>>Penn State came into the season ranked No. 8, but with major questions about its offense and receivers. Offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki did everything in his power to fix it. Despite passing a major test on the road against West Virginia with a dominant 34-12 victory, Penn State didn't move an inch in the Week 1 AP Top 25.

Granted, the competition in the top 10 is tight, but the Nittany Lions answered their biggest concerns. Wide receiver Harrison Wallace III is a star in the making after posting 117 yards and two touchdowns. The running game cleared 222 yards and the defense won at the point of attack.

If the offensive questions are answered, Penn State belongs in the breath as other top CFP contenders. Really, there's not much more Penn State could have done to pass Oregon or Ole Miss. This week, they deserved it. <<

Lamar “MVP” Jackson

Missed 2 open receivers in the end zone with the game on the line, hanging one of them out to dry to potentially get injured - looked like he had “successfully” done so with Lively, but he came back to try to bail out the MVP, but fell short by a toe length. The miss of Flowers was ridiculous. The “scramble” on the final play, where he looked like one of those players aimlessly turning in circles in the electric vibrating football games … classic.

Tough to win it all with an “MVP” who isn’t clutch.

FB Recruiting Touted 2027 OL to visit Penn State this weekend

2027 Coatesville (Pa.) offensive tackle Maxwell Hiller will take an unofficial visit for tomorrow's game, Happy Valley Insider has learned. Hiller has been in State College numerous times since the spring, and will make the in-state trek for another tomorrow.

Oblis Observations

Game
  • you are never as good as you think you are after a win. WVU had four fumbles in the first half that took them out of their game. While they only lost one, they lost a lot of yardage on the other four. Plus, we were very fortunate that Beau's shin hit the ground. I looked like WVU was trying to do a direct snap, or very close, to the jet sweeper but they couldn't get the timing down. First game jitters and game speed not being the same as practice speed.
  • PSU only attempted 18 passes. I think we could have passed all day and put up 50 points.
  • The game was effectively over after the opening drive of the third qtr. Was seriously over after Singleton's long run
  • Interesting on the horsecollar that wasn't called. I guess the defender didn't take the runner down but it was clearly a player grabbing the horse collar. I'd never thought about it but I guess it isn't like facemask where if you grab and jerk it no matter how hard, it is a penalty.
  • I loved that CJF was prepared for the delay with food and letting the kids move around. This didn't catch them by surprise.
  • We were far more physical and fast.
QB
  • First, I loved seeing Allar get animated after the fumbled snap. I like the passion and leadership, that we didn't see from him last year.
  • His best throw isn't being talked about. His best throw was a flag pattern for a critical first down to the outside of the receiver. It was a rope and a dame.
  • I loved his running. They were all smart runs when he had the first down available. Again, didn't see that last year. One time, he went all Mahomes buying time but didn't really advance much down the field. Loved it.
  • I am not sure what to think of the Beau/Allar combo. I need to see it against BG and Kent. Beau makes me nervous holding onto the ball.
RBs/OL
  • Singleton looked good and ran away from WVU DBs twice. Pretty good for a man of his size. Not so much for Allen but he didn't have much room.
  • We ran A LOT but I think that is what the game dictated.
  • Cousins is going to be a bad ass.
  • Love Vega in motion.
  • TEs all looked good.
  • We ran a wildcat to Singleton but it ended up being called dead for a penalty before the snap.
  • Love AK's creativity but need to give thought to NOT being a trickery team. We can overdo it.
Defense
  • WVU's offense ended up being off balance with the fumbles and then being behind. Plus they lost their best RB during the critical 2nd quarter. So they shot themselves in the foot.
  • Run D was good but pass D was really good. No complaints
  • Especially good are our 4 Safeties. They look awesome. And Rojas is going to be a superstar
I watched a little of the other games. Watching LSU USC I thought boy these teams offenses are good. Yet, when you look at it, we scored more points in 3 Qtrs and all they did was pass. I feel good about our team right now.
