Who Would would score most at 133 next year?

A. Chris Cannon
B. Healthy Robbie Howard
C. Braeden Davis

If healthy Robbie will be wrestling 125.
If Cannon is in the room and Robbie is healthy Davis will redshirt. If Robbie reninjures his shoulder/elbow, and if Davis is deemed ready he will wrestle 125. If Davis isn't ready and Robbie is injured Steen will wrestle 125.

That pretty much leaves Cannon. Expect Evans to try and wrestle 133.

Since my hope is Cannon is our 133, Howard our 125 and Davis a redshirt my money is on Cannon.
This is my thought as well. Robbie is a 125 and Davis needs a redshirt. Would love if Cannon came on board. Solves one of the main problems for next year

How about David Evans cutting back to 133? Is he anywhere in the mix? Not saying it even happens but he was 10-4 at 133 two seasons ago, albeit against weak competition, and 8-2 at 141 last year.

I could see this as possibility but what does “BoBar too 133” even solve? Doesnt it just shift the “hole” too 141? Sheesh, let the poor kid wrestle the same weight for 2 consecutive years already.

I’m not sure anyone, outside of folks on this board, have even discussed Beau to 33 as a possibility.

I believe Beau did before taking over at 149. I think he said he could wrestle at 133 and up. That was a couple of years ago however.

From his recruiting profile on FLO:

The nation's top ranked 132-pounder, Bartlett has won three National Prep titles for Wyoming Seminary. Most recently, he finished eighth at the U.S. Open on the senior level, beating two-time All-American Jordan Conaway and three-time NCAA qualifier Shelton Mack.

He is currently rated as our seventh best prospect on the 2020 Big Board, and is the second Top-10 pickup from that grade for PSU, along with #4 Robbie Howard. That number could potentially grow, as #1 overall recruit AJ Ferrari and #5 junior Braxton Amos both have Penn State in their Top-5 school list.

Presently sitting at #6 in the pound-for-pound, Bartlett will be either a 133 or 141 at the next level. With Howard already committed, it is likely they will be back-to-back weights for the Nittany Lions, whether that is 125 and 133 or 133 and 141.

The coaching staff in Happy Valley might need to get creative with Bartlett and Howard's eligibility. Though 125 is an obvious need, Howard may outgrow it by the time he is finished high school and has previously stated he plans on being a 133 in college. Their current 141 Nick Lee still has two years of eligibility remaining, and starting 133 Roman Bravo-Young has three years left; both also can use redshirts.

Almost their entire 2018 recruiting class spent this past year on greyshirt, and that may be the case again for this 2020 group, especially considering that Howard is young for his grade and is still UWW Cadet eligible. Either way, the folks in State College have a good problem on their hand figuring out what to do with all of the incoming lower weight talent.

It solves the problem of scoring too many points at 141.

I think the idea was Kasak can make 141 if Beau makes 133. I don’t consider Beau to 133 to be a realistic solution, either, though. He’s fine at 141.
