Wondering if anyone out there has any thoughts/ideas of where I might be able to get my hands on a 1923 Rose Bowl Program - 1st for Penn State. I'd like to put in my man cave a display with all four Rose Bowl programs. The other 3 were easy to come by. We live in Pasadena and I've been looking around here but no luck. I've looked on eBay and no luck either.

thanks for any suggestions.

There was not a program as you probably are thinking of. There was a small folded cardstock card with the lineups and maybe some other team info on it. There was also a Tournament of Roses Parade program which came out AFTER the game and parade which has several pictures of actual game action and, as I remember, floats and stuff in it (the program must have come out after all the activities). That program was about the size and thickness of a typical game program today. There were also several postcards that came out with a pictures of the parade and one of a partial crowd shot and game action on the field. The postcards show up on eBay now and them. I think I have seen the parade program on there once or twice too but they are pretty rare. I have never seen the cardstock program except once at a memorabilia show where I quickly got out my checkbook. I think I once paid $150 for the parade program and probably go a real deal on it at that price. I can't send you pix of these items now because I'm a snowbird in Florida for the winter and my collection is back home up north. There are a couple of memorabilia dealers whom you could contact to follow up on getting the programs. One is Columbia City Collectibles, another is Touchdown Treasures. They have websites and post stuff on eBay. Prepare to get out your checkbook. Another dealer who has a lot of Penn State stuff is a guy, AJ, at Football@innernet.com who is less likely to have things this esoteric but... He's on eBay a lot too. If you search the internet enough you can probably find a pix of he Parad program. Like I say I've never seen the cardstock piece anywhere else. If you ask on this site this summer I will probably see it and could sent or post pix of the two "programs".

There is a replica of the Rose bowl postcard in the "Penn State Football Vault" if you can find that. I bought a few of them for 5.00 each. It also includes many other replicas of many PSU tickets and other memorabilia
