2018 Recruiting Thread

Walker is down to PSU, OSU, and Va Tech. Kind of surprised UMd is out.

If you knew the inside of the Maryland athletic office, you wouldn't be. They lost a lot of the older letterman when they booted Fridge. Not to mention that Franklin would probably have been offered the job after Fridge coached the last year that he wanted. Instead they booted him and the nest scrambled. I went to the PSU game in College Park with a lot of older ex players. They are disgusted with the admin and don't think Durkin stays long there.

There is a lot of talk on managing 'Ships' and I think JF is doing an amazing job in that area. After the 4 Jan announcements (and PSU hopefully getting good news) would it be wise (or even possible) to have a 'Ship' in hand for that late 4/5 star player surprise?
Bowen and Charles helped "manage" the ships.

Franklin already had the job. He was coach in waiting

Nope. I wouldn’t say that’s established yet!

For a long time on this board it was all about the trio of Parsons, Smith, and Oweh and how many of these 3 end up at PSU.

If we end up with two out of three I won’t complain.
I can't see Stillers trading with Pats to drop to 32 letting Pats draft ahead of them Rahsaan Evans - LB - Bama

UA Practice 2nd Day (Source Farrell / Rivals)

One of the best catches of the day was by big receiver Penn State commitment Justin Shorter. He made a great catch down the sidelines on a ball thrown over the wrong shoulder

Defensive end Jayson Oweh, who could end up at Penn State, reminds me a lot of Shane Simmons from a few years ago who also ended up at Penn State.

Speaking of Penn State, P.J. Mustipher was very impressive on the inside for the second day in a row. He’s a much better prospect out of high school than his brother Sam was. Sam is now the center for Notre Dame

2. Another impressive day for Penn State signees
The Penn State contingent in attendance had an impressive Sunday and continued to perform at a high level Monday. On a day without many big plays by receivers,
Justin Shorter
continued to stand out, while
PJ Mustipher
has fully proven himself as one of the top defensive tackles in attendance. Running back
Ricky Slade
also was one of the top players. With the passing attack limited due to the weather, Team Spotlight often relied on Slade on offense. He responded by catching numerous passes coming out of the backfield and breaking a few touchdowns on the ground.
