2018 Recruiting Thread

Looks like that is Rasheed Walker "blocking" him.

The RT in the video is wearing a jersey that ends in a 3. Maybe 53?

Don't know if the promo pic means anything relative to his practice or game number, but here is Rasheed in his Army AA gear photo.

think that is "2018"

You know for all the hype, Lavar was pretty skinny his freshman year. Was a terror on special teams but really needed to put on muscle and weight to start dominating. Parsons is going to step on the field and whip people as a freshman.

Probably won't make him exactly want to come to Penn State. Micah would no doubt make him better.

Depends on what he wants.

If you want to be the best you can be, you want to be challenged and improve with the best.

The old proverb...

As iron sharpens iron,
so one man sharpens another.”

There is mutual benefit in the rubbing of two iron blades together; the edges become sharper, making the knives more efficient in their task to cut and slice.

Guessing Walker has his sights set on high achievement and wants to thrive in a supportive, good coaching, highly competitive environment like CJF has created.

Having a great workout partner like Micah could really help Walker be the best he can be.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — The third practice of UA All-America week is in the books. The all-star game features over 90 of the top high school football prospects in the nation. 247Sports brings you the top performers from the final full workout of the week.

ALPHA DOG

Penn State five-star wide receiver signee Justin Shorter is simply too physically gifted for defensive backs to slow. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound New Jersey product brings a unique combination of size, speed, and strength. Shorter is nearly unstoppable on slant routes given his size, and he continues to catch hitches, shake off the defender to turn up field for big gains.

NEXT ON OFFENSE

2. RB Ricky Slade: The Penn State signee was simply unstoppable during one-on-one drills against linebackers. Exploding out of his breaks, Slade left defenders in his wake as he continued to get open down the field for big gains in the passing game. The Virginia native is at his best when allowed to work in space.

TOP ON DEFENSE

4. DE Jayson Oweh: The four-star out of New Jersey continues to shine during the scrimmage portion of practice. The 6-foot-5, 235-pound prospect has elite tools and seems to have a knack for making plays despite being relatively new to the game.

It's funny how Rivals still has Shorter as the #10 ranked WR...

From Mike Farrell. . .

Sights and Sounds

The best running back by far has been Ricky Slade as the Penn State commitment will be a big part of his team’s offense.

Justin Shorter is far and away the biggest receiver at the event and a freak of nature. We haven’t pulled the string on his fifth star yet, but that could be changing.

Players that have raised their stock

WR Justin Shorter - Is he a five-star wide receiver? He’s built like one and sure looks like one, so we’ll see if he continues to impress.

DT PJ Mustipher - I came in skeptical of his ranking thinking we might have him a little high, but he’s been in the backfield constantly and has been excellent all week.

Has Tyreke Smith been named in any of these lists? I haven't seen him mentioned, though I assume he's there.

They just need to make sure Slade can pass protect. If he gets that down, he's going to be a factor from Day One.

Four-star defensive tackle P.J. Mustipher has been lauded over and over again by those covering the game, while five-star running back Ricky Slade and five-star receiver Justin Shorter have also spent time making headlines. Three-star signee Shaquon Anderson-Butts, from Harrisburg, is also at the game but one report had him missing some time due to injury.

Pickel also said that Micah was practicing kicking field goals from the sideline during down time

Gotta appreciate the hustle by the cameraman who follows Micah all the way through.

Micah Parsons looks unstoppable at Army All-American Bowl practice

Penn State certainly knows what it’s getting in Micah Parsons, one of the nation’s top-ranked defensive players.

Parsons is out the make sure everyone else knows, too.
