Michigan State, Purdue, and Ohio State jump out at me.

I think you're drinking the b1g sauce that Malik is a legit AA contender.
Heinselman and Foley are virtually locked into the 8th and 9th seeds at nationals. Even if Heinselman slips to the 12th seed somehow, that makes him a legit AA contender by definition.

Looking at the coaches poll, Heinselman is 10th. He will pass 7 Cronin and 9 McKee due to B10 Tournament placement. 14 Foley is the only guy lower who can pass him, by winning the B10 3rd place match. The 11, 12, 13, and 15 guys are all B10 who finished below Heinselman.

Actually the B10 is incredibly deep at 125 compared to the national level. I tend to disagree with the common sentiment that the weight as a whole is weak, but it is very evenly matched after Lee. Latona, Camacho and Hildebrandt are likely the biggest threats outside of the B10, but they are all beatable. Heinselman might not place, but he could also be a finalist.

MH could be a finalist now??? Seriously? Did you even watch the MH v DS match. Schroder dominated him badly. And Schroder is only a low AA candidate imo.

165 7th Place Match: Joe Lee vs. David Ferrante (NW)

Per 1
Ferrante in on a head outside single, Lee sprawls, then drives in on a double, Ferrante with a whizzer, crazy scramble, and then back on their feet, nothing. OOB with 1:24 left. Not much going on. Lee tries a fireman's carry, he's close, now they scramble, and Ferrante ends up with the TD just before the buzzer, 0-2. End RT @ 8 sec for Ferrante

Per 2
Ferrante takes bottom. He's up after a bit, 0-3. Ferrante with a body lock, but Lee throws him to his back and then Ferrante takes Lee to his back, appears to be 6-9, with Ferrante on top. RT goes over 1 min for Ferrante. Lee is flattened. End. RT @ 1:19 for Ferrante

Per 3
Lee takes neutral. Not much thru 1st 30 sec. 1 min left. Lee with multiple attempts, nothing. 30 sec left. Stall warning on Ferrante. End. With 1:19 in RT, it's a 6-10 decision.

Joe Lee takes 8th place in the B1G Tournament.

Without being critical - I think Howard, Berge and Beard all wrestled guys who are better than them right now. It happens. Berge might try to open it up a little more next time, but otherwise ....
Maybe but I'm watching Robbie and thinking he might pull something at the end to win that match. I'm not sure I'd take Malik if they met in two weeks and know I wouldn't next year.

Is Joe Lee the new Jimmy Guilibon? Talented and lots of potential but issues of some kind going on.

Joe is just lost out there right now. Goes from having guys in pinning position to nearly being pinned himself. Hopefully the coaches can help him figure some things out because he is way better than he has shown.

Damn, Joe Lee lost twice to guys he beat in the regular season, one that he decked. Hurt? Weight issue? Confidence? At some point if it’s just sloppy it becomes a real problem.

Looks like maybe a inter-match delay before the 3rd/5th place matches.

[Edit: hmm, maybe 3rd and 5th are at the same time as the championships?]

His leg is wrapped pretty good. Didn’t seem to have explosion he did last year or the fall. Let’s give him some time to heal up and have a normal season. I think he will be back to the wrestler that beat Jake Wentzel 10-3 during his redshirt season.

I can agree, except for Berge - he is just as good as Brayton Lee and could have won that match.

Berge had a great chance for a TD in the first period, when he had Lee's leg. Seemed he wasn't patient enough and allowed Lee to get to the edge. At that point, though he should have dragged Lee back toward the middle of mat. Failure to convert that TD was huge.
I have a question as to why that is not a stall warning for fleeing the mat on Lee? It seems like everyone does it but the officials don't call it.
