2021 Recruiting Class Thread

Wiltfong with a CB for OT Diego Pounds to Penn State

For a 3* recruit, his offer sheet is as good as any in America. Rivals in particular doesn’t seem high on him......or hasn’t adjusted their ranking yet.

Other than Rucci, he’s our best OL prospect remaining. With OL and secondary being biggest needs, getting Pounds, Davis, and Warren would be nice.

UNC just lost a big OT recruit two days ago and immediately offered Pounds. Wonder how he feels about UNC?

Who decommitted from UNC?

Looks like Jared Wilson, who decommitted from UNC on 8/3 and committed to UGA.... But he looked to be a Guard whereas Pounds looks like an OT.........

The odds are likely much higher that some of these commits will flip.... from MSU....

Yes. With a confidence level of 8. Of course, that was given back in 2018.......though I'm not sure when the confidence level was given, since that's a relatively new feature.
I think the confidence level feature started 2 months ago? Something like that. It doesn’t matter that the CB was given in 2018, he would change it if he didn’t think it was right.

Well, there is a difference......if he posted a CB of 8 just recently, it suggests he has recent information to warrant that pick.

I imagine even the best analysts tend to anchor on their initial predictions. I say that because human beings in general are slow to reverse prior decisions, and typically need a lot of evidence to do so. People like Dohn and Wiltfong don't flip their CB picks unless they're virtually 100% certain. I'm not sure there's enough to be 100% certain on Rucci yet, one way or the other.

He probably still sees Rucci going to PSU, and Wiltfong certainly sees Rucci going to Wisconsin. We'll have to wait and see.

Pounds is a 4 star on ESPN and almost a 4 star on 24/7.

If he's filmed a commitment video, then you'd think we'd start seeing some level of crystal ball movement - in one direction or the other - pretty soon. Not sure if that stays fully under wraps for two weeks.

Fitz said he will have a new Penn State CB pick in the near future.
Excellent. Whether the pick is Penn State or Oklahoma, if he's filming a video, he's probably also doing those little "post-commitment" interviews with 247 and Rivals about why he picked his school, that are actually done a week or so in advance of the announcement.

Got a good feeling about this one, especially if Fitz' crystal ball ends up being for Gilliam.

And I think Oklahoma is still planning on playing football. We can only offer a hypothetical...

Gilliam is a 2021 kid. He is still in HS.

And OU has been the perceived leader (if you follow CBs and FCs) for a few months now. Doubt the COVID stuff played any role.
