2024 Olympics Wrestling (merged)

Yesterday's Men's gymnastics event was awesome too. Cool to see Stephen Nedoroscik from PSU with the clinching pommel horse at the very end seal their first medal in 16 years.

Also watching the last 10 seconds of US Women's Rugby today was pretty incredible too. My first time watching rugby and it got me stoked.
The men's gymnastic team--despite being an individual sport where the team members are sometimes pitted against each other--is as much of a team in an individual sport that I've ever seen. Infectious how much they were there for each other, especially after Brody Malone, an overall favorite, had a disasterous first day. He could have mailed it in after his dream was shot but he climbed back in and performed and they don't get bronze without him resetting himself. Often the cameraderie on teams like this is basically tolerance b/c of the tension that they're also rivals, but not this team--they genuinely like each other and behaved like they'd won gold when they'd actually won bronze. Such a great story. And extra cool that the specialist pommel horse ringer, who became an instant celebrity, is a Lion.

I know folks are upset or pissed regarding the Olympics, but my God, watching Team USA Women's Gymnastics today is an absolute gift! Watching Simone is an absolute gift to witness. I literally cried when we won the gold. I'll never miss greatness like this!
Yup. 1 bobble in 12 total routines. They smashed the field. And, yeah, Biles is the boss.

My favorite sports moment has always been Secretariat going from last to first around the Clubhouse Turn at Pimlico - even better than the Belmont. I was 6 years old watching that and I remember my whole horse loving family gasping for air.
What? You trying to get banned? This thread is for Olympics and Olympic wrestling. Besides......the most awesome boss move was Affirmed constantly letting Alydar catch up only to speed up and win by inches .. :)

Yep. I rarely wager on the ponies but I bet on Alydar that year.

Agree. Never saw that before or after. Then played keep away the rest of the race.

Spotted this on YouTube with United World Wrestling calling Yazdani the greatest. I have to wonder what DT thinks about that?

I come in peace to share the official media guide that USA Wrestling put out today. Tons of great info about our team, the field, and schedules. We pulled the trigger and are going to Paris to watch Thursday-Friday sessions. Getting pumped, go USA!

Current odds at each weight, although for some reason having issues finding 65kg. These odds will give a sense about the competition at each weight.

Here is 65kg:

Spencer, Dake, and Parris are favored for gold. Brooks and Snyder for 2nd. Zain 3rd but is close.

parris is not favored. zare is the -190 favorite at 125kg on my draftkings app, but he's not listed on your site for some reason.

You should watch him in the preakness then. Went from last to first in 1/2 of the first turn. It looked like a schoolboy race were he gave the field a headstart. It's one thing to do that when the horses are tiring, but to do it that early when all are fresh was amazing.

My dipshit coaching buddies decided we're going out west for our yearly boyz trip next week.

Might be time to start building a new inner circle.

If you liked that then you will love Secretariat's performance in the second race of the 1973 Triple Crown!
