The men's gymnastic team--despite being an individual sport where the team members are sometimes pitted against each other--is as much of a team in an individual sport that I've ever seen. Infectious how much they were there for each other, especially after Brody Malone, an overall favorite, had a disasterous first day. He could have mailed it in after his dream was shot but he climbed back in and performed and they don't get bronze without him resetting himself. Often the cameraderie on teams like this is basically tolerance b/c of the tension that they're also rivals, but not this team--they genuinely like each other and behaved like they'd won gold when they'd actually won bronze. Such a great story. And extra cool that the specialist pommel horse ringer, who became an instant celebrity, is a Lion.Yesterday's Men's gymnastics event was awesome too. Cool to see Stephen Nedoroscik from PSU with the clinching pommel horse at the very end seal their first medal in 16 years.
Also watching the last 10 seconds of US Women's Rugby today was pretty incredible too. My first time watching rugby and it got me stoked.
