2025 Big Ten Tournament thread

It’s like the swallows returning to Capistrano 😂😂…. A yearly event.
More like the buzzards to Hinkley, OH . . .also an annual event which aligns closely with NCAAa 🤣

Turkey vultures, also known as buzzards, return to Hinckley, Ohio every year on or around March 15. The Cleveland Metroparks' official buzzard spotter (aka slumlord Bob), welcomes them back to the Hinckley (aka Hawkeye) Reservation.

Nah, I expect these results every year and I'm never surprised. And every year a few on this board cherry pick posts from a few idiots from the Iowa board and post it here like it's the consensus of Iowa fans.
When not a single poster calls out stuff like the Mesenbrink post I referenced above, it is the consensus of Iowa fans. I don't recall you standing up and calling out the idiocies on your board, but you sure dismiss their behavior here.

But there are so many over there to choose from. Its like shooting fish in a barrel.

In perusing HR this post seems to sum it up best:

Iowa scored 110.5 pts last year in Big Tens. 2 million dollars in Nil and we basically scored the same. Money well spent.
I also keep reading that Zalesky was fired for being so much worse than Brands, yet he was fired for coming in 4th at NCAAs in 2006. Brands came in 5th last year, and with half the team being new transfers will be lucky to finish 2nd. I'm betting 3rd at this point.

I ask the question can LeBron now play college basketball if he chooses? Or can J Fields come back to Ohio State?
False equivalency. Those guys signed professional contracts, and so by rule they are ineligible for further NCAA competition. Gable never signed a contract, but attempted to earn a spot on the Bills roster.

As for the WWE, there was no stipulation in his contract that forbade him from competing in the NCAA again. Not sure that would even be legal, or if Gable would have signed such a document.

Everyone's problem with Gable seems to be that he shouldn't be allowed to compete in collegiate wrestling again, and that's fine. That opinion is valid. But the beef should be with the system that allowed so many loopholes for it to happen. Like, if you take an Olympic redshirt, you must try to make the Olympic team. Gotta close that loophole for sure.

I'm not defending it or criticizing it, I don't really care what he does with his life because it affects me in absolutely zero ways. But I think if most of us were this caliber of athlete, we would want to compete as long as possible. Gable just took a very circuitous route back to the mats. Just my opinion!

Same dude posted in another thread that they should beat the you know what out of Cael so he can’t coach anymore. He got one call out. Me.

I said "dislike", not "hate".

I realize that since a certain generation arrived on the scene no dislike, disagreement or misgiving can be offered without the imputation of "hate" but that's not my problem.

I also said "visceral" which means I already admitted I don't have an objective reason.

I don't like my neighbor's dog either, like Steveson, it won't go away.
At least if Steveson gets hurt or sick he will have his Medicare insurance to cover him.

Well, waking up in the afterglow of a great tournament. Not everything went as well as some PSU fans would hope (it never, EVER will), but it's hard to be too disappointed in anything, other than possibly having some concern about Josh Barr's health. I suspect that he'll be OK for NCAAs, but what the hell do I know?

Not the consensus of Iowa fans, HR members. Well except the stalling stuff. Everybody wrestling against a Hawkeye is stalling seems to be damn near universal across the Hawk world.
