+1 for "strategery"
Loved the "snapshots" reference, akin to the Platonic forms.

Yes and I think he still will be. Had season ending surgery this year and they expect him to qualify for a medical eventually. Is Gavin Nelson in line to start at 97 next year? Huge recruit, I’m sure he expected to be a 4 year starter
He was pretty awful all the way around. Great voice for tv and radio, but his interviews were cringe worthy.Pretty much a dick move when BTN guy tries to get CStar into the 2024 not wrestling at B1G discussion!
McEnelly needs a brother with huge 2-inch deadlift numbers. If Max would learn to wrestle from his knees, then he definitely would be better than Ferrari.
Not bad, considering there are now 18 universities in the B1G.Rutgers finished 9th, so still perennial top 10 team. In B1Gs
Gable picked Feldman up and tossed him like a 10 lb sack of potatoes. He is beyond strong.Kerk usually ties up his opponent’s wrist and bicep and sets-up from there for a leg attack. Steveson was not having any of that. It was also clear Steveson was much stronger than Kerk. He was able to basically move Kerk around to make him unbalanced and attack from there. Love Kerk but it wasn’t as close as the score. Gable made no attempt to turn Kerk and I’m pretty sure he could have worked toward that if he chose to.
The thing that stood out to me was Lilledahl letting go of the single when Ramos tried to go elevator. Was up 7-1 and knew Ramos didn’t have the ability to come back without a big move. Super smart move by a freshman.Legit. Man, that dude is remarkably fast. That first takedown was ridiculous. Getting pushed on finally seem to wear on him with that poor shot at end but he's easily in the 99th percentile for athleticism at the D1 level. Significantly bigger than Cstar too to be getting pushed around like that. Everyone else always seems to get burned occasionally in the low-scoring stuff but Carter seems utterly immune to it. Lilledahl letting go of Ramos during that standing granby gave me similar vibes. Ramos hits it. LL is like checking his watch. Blowing kisses to his girl in the stands. Checking his stock portfolio real quick and then hopping back on after the dude is no longer airborne? I'm shaking my head involuntarily just thinking about it again. Absurd quickness.
That amazing to me because he appeared huge compared to CStar in my eyes.Max walks around about 190-193 and does not cut weight much at all in season.
So you’re saying that they can, on a technicality, claim to be in the top 50%?Not bad, considering there are now 18 universities in the B1G.![]()
Max is just Lumberjack strong. Great year for him and he is very fun to watch. Hope you guys can get him a NIL bag as he deserves it. The PSU guys get the farmer strong guys. They are not ripped like tOSU guys, but have unbelievable core and grip strength. Guys like Rethorford and Tyler. Functional strength versus weight room strengthMax walks around about 190-193 and does not cut weight much at all in season.
He didn't learn from Byrd who basically said WGAF about last year.Pretty much a dick move when BTN guy tries to get CStar into the 2024 not wrestling at B1G discussion!
Always a good idea to speak to a mom when she has a son on the mat. She's not busy or anything. He was pretty awful all the way around. Great voice for tv and radio, but his interviews were cringe worthy.
The toss could have gone bad and was a bit surprised he wasn't dinged for it. There is an explicit responsibility to bring wrestlers back to the mat safely except in WWE.Gable picked Feldman up and tossed him like a 10 lb sack of potatoes. He is beyond strong.
I think all 10 wrestlers qualified for this tournament...so... you know.Rutgers finished 9th, so still perennial top 10 team. In B1Gs

They moved enough to avoid a few ankle picks, yikes!. Otherwise, we just have to live with the idea that this might be a literal mountain too big for Kerk to climb.I didn't think Kerk moved his feet enough. I am wondering if he was simply 'feeling him out' (although they have wrestled before - but not for awhile) and setting up for Natty's.... just a thought![]()
AngelI have a question.
Why did Lilledahl receive several stall warnings resulting in 2 points being awarded to his opponent while Lovett, who also never attacked in the 3rd period received a token stall warning when there did not appear to be enough time for a 2nd call resulting in points to be made?
Even if he isn't right now, after working with Kemerer while Ferrari works with ???? he will be.Dude is impressive. I think he is better than Angelo Ferrari.
Levi is probably the 2nd best 165lb in the country, 184 would be a hard go for Levi.Does Levi keep growing to 184?
I love this kid. His mind is really interesting. I sure hope he sticks around PSU long after he’s done competing
POTY nomination!Lilledahl’s choices while being recruited:
- Ohio State and forfeit to Ramos
- Iowa and MFF to Ramos
- Penn State and major Ramos
Might have to say the best 165…. But matter of preferenceLevi is probably the 2nd best 165lb in the country, 184 would be a hard go for Levi.
if you don't use it right strength means nothing!PSU will take technique all day long!Max is just Lumberjack strong. Great year for him and he is very fun to watch. And Haines since the O'Toole match. It seems he was trying to wrestle a little more on the mat at times even before the finals.Van Ness has not looked good since the Parco match
I will echo your note about attending and the people you get to meet.Day 2 funsies:
Met a couple of old Iowa dawgs. Unlike their coach, got no crap from them for wearing PSU gear! Very considerate with their time (despite being photobombed by Mitch).

My son and daughter are Beaus biggest fans and rocked two different shoes the whole weekend. Then we ran into him during the finals. He is a funny cat. Asked them if they ever feel off balanced wearing two different shoes. Pulling for him big time next week!

Shane Sparks is THE announcing man. If a sport could ever grow strictly by way of announcer passion, he and Rock would be the ones. My filterless son went over to Kerk while Kerk was talking to his dad during the ceremonies and asked if he could get a hat. Kerk gave him the hat off his head. Mr Kerkvliet took off before I could let him know what a fine representative his son has been for the program. Hopefully he still reads the board. I can’t remember his handle to @ him.

These events rock. I assume most here have been to a B1G or NCAA, but if not, you need to make it happen. The camaraderie of the weekends is top notch.
After the DQ (match vs Cartagena-Walsh), Rogotzke was shown in Track as wrestling in the 184-lb 9th place semi mini tournament against Daly. Not sure if he actually wrestled/won and went on to wrestle for the 9th place spot. Flo shows only 8 NCAA qualifiers at 184 from the B1G. https://www.flowrestling.org/articl...ling-championships-ncaa-tournament-qualifiersI think it’s been discussed, but with the DQ, Is Rogotzke’s post season done? I think so…
Bullock won the 9th place match over Rogotzke. After the DQ (match vs Cartagena-Walsh), Rogotzke was shown in Track as wrestling in the 184-lb 9th place semi mini tournament against Daly. Oh right. I was watching that match and noticed that the ref indicated Bullock had some sort of head injury caused by Rogotzke (ref put his fist to his head...I'm guessing that means head injury?)Bullock won the 9th place match over Rogotzke.
