African-American athletes threaten to strike at Mizzou

LOL. People have been watching you cry wolf here all week.
How so or do only have one line retorts devoid of substance? Let's start with the reasons you think it legitimatizes the cause to have the rich boy hunger striking on his third different injustice this semester. You seem critical of the idea that if this rich kid would protest 3 separate causes over the last few months that he might just protest anything legitimate or not. Additionally, when your daddy makes $7mil a year and you are a student, you have no grounds to call others privileged considering the things which were probably handed to him. I doubt he worked a day in his life but his position is that the university president didn't earn it and is privileged because of his skin tone. How do you seriously support that lunacy? I thought you guys hated the 1%ers and no one should earn $7mil a year even if they work their ass off for it? What changed?

Odd how personal this is to you. You have no idea who this kid is really, but sure can sit here in judgement of him. Go get him I guess. His wealth and previous involvements means there is no problems. Just like Jerry's victims weren't all Saints, it means they all lied. It's fine to have an opinion, enjoy yours.

I am guessing that he understands that, to an extent, the protests are directed right at him. So, that's something.

I'll never forget that sitting in the stands for that Blue/White game. I remember walking away puzzled to hear the words I heard about those protesters but to think that those same fans had no problems rooting on black players to win for our school.

Of course it's not just a PSU thing, obviously. I guess I'll never understand how people who feel such hatred (the words I heard were definitely hateful) toward black kids but cheer on the black players who put on a helmet with their teams colors.

I nominate this for most ridiculous post of the year.

It is perfectly legitimate to criticize the protesters at Mizzou for their hypocrisy, attempts to suppress free speech, absurd demands, intolerance and physical intimidation of those whom they see as adversaries. One can criticize those protesters at Mizzou for their insufferable behavior AND cheer black players who play for Penn State and represent the university well. Why you think these two are linked is beyond me, unless you believe anyone who criticizes any black for any reason under any circumstances must be racist.

I truly hope you are not a Penn State student or alum. If you are, you failed to develop your critical and logical thinking skills while at Penn State. In other words, you're a fvcking idiot.

You are probably too simple to realize it but the protests are directed at all of us, every last person. Because with the aid of an agenda driven media they aimed and succeeded in ruining the career and taking the livelihood of a man because of the color of his skin for a few alleged incidents not of his doing. They sought immediate blood and racially mocked him while calling for his head and they got away with it. You might even agree with these protesters in this instance (I and many others are very critical of their actions and unsure of the real reasons for it), but do not doubt that if this university president can suffer this fate at the hands of social justice then you can too and so can everyone. You just have to look different than whatever the current media outcry's cause.

Cheese and crackers, you're vested in this.

Interesting situation in Philadelphia, Temple, Penn and Drexel are demonstrating but not Villanova, St. Josephs or LaSalle per the PHL Inquirer. What distinguishes the last three schools from the demonstrating schools?

How personal is it? I'm not sure how you measure that. Is it because I've had to re-explain it multiple times to agenda driven parrots claiming that they can't see the hypocrisy in an multi-millionaires child demanding that someone so accomplished that he reached the pinnacle of his professional admit that he is privileged?

You have to be dumb as a box of rocks and/or dishonest to not see the hypocrisy there. Further, it is a blow to the legitimacy of your cause if the face of it moves from cause to cause seeming each time he changes his socks. Does this kid really believe in this particular cause or does he just protest everything? Is it really legitimate injustice or is it just another instance of this rich kid getting worked up when something didn't go his way? Hard to know.

The personal part of this issue for me is not the rich kid, it is the precedent set by ruining someone based on the color of their skin and media outrage. That is dangerous and it sure as hell isn't America. I do also take personal offense to the tactic of responding to alleged racism with more racism. I think fundamentally that is wrong and meant to divide and will do nothing but stoke more hate. What happened to the ideas of MLK? Why have we seemingly rejected them today in discussions of race?

I'm not sure if you are insecure or in denial. Either way, let the black people know what they need to do for now on. Make sure they run it by you as you clearly have walked a ton of miles in their shoes. You really are way to wrapped up in this for some reason.

Can you fill us in? I don't know much about those schools other than Penn.

We all are. While you would prefer snarky remarks without addressing any of the issue, some of us give a damn about this Country and where it is headed enough to give the issues more than a cursory look.

Cool. Attacking my patriotism. Hmmm. Where have I seen that one before?

So I'm insecure because I have an opinion? Got it. Do you have black people in your family? Have you relied on black people (among other races) and had them rely upon you in combat zones? Have you had a professional mentor who is a black man? Spare me the walk a mile in their shoes. People are people. There are good white people and good black people and there are also dishonest people such as quite a few posters in this thread.

Catholic Universities? You insinuating more religious, possibly more conservative, hard working students maybe? Just asking.

Do you intend at any point to post something on topic of substance? Are you capable of cogent discussion on the topic? I would love to discuss that as opposed to reassuring you that disclosing part of my reasoning for why this discussion matters is not indictment of your patriotism or lack thereof. Rub some dirt on those hurt feelings and if you want to contribute to the actual topic it is welcomed as opposed these snarky responses that don't address any of the issues under consideration.

This matter was resolved some number of days ago. And, yes, you attacked my patriotism....whether you choose to recognize that fact or not. You are out of control on this topic. A raging BSer as it were. LOL.

BTW, I served and lived with people of various races so you can lay that card down. No kidding there are good and bad people, but that doesn't mean these issues were not real.

The only card I played is defending your accusation of me that I have little experience interacting with black people. So now apparently you can't even correct when the children make false accusations of you without offending the children.

Look, I've tried to discuss the actual issues and all you kids do is deflect, lie and sometimes get caught, misquote, accuse, and avoid answering any legitimate questions at all costs. It is clear to me that you have no interest in discussing the issues rationally, like an adult. It's a shame, these are important issues in our Country and lefties are only interesting in hurling insults like "crackers" which is very funny unless you direct similar racial comments at blacks and then it is grounds to end the career of someone who wasn't able to efficiently stop those comments or allegations of them from people with absolutely no connection to him whatsoever. But he's white so it's ok if racism and an injustice took away his livelihood unfairly right? Have fun in your parent's basement kiddies.

All I know is that I would never send my kid there. How would you like to have your daughter 1,000 miles away having to eat in a cafeteria with this crap going on? "You mess with one of us you mess with all of us??"

That place is an absolute mess. I think you have to turn the sound on the video icon to hear it.

This is disturbing beyond words. Thanks for sharing reality.

That to me sounds a hell of a lot like racial intimidation. Why weren't the white kids at MU protected from this on campus? Every video that surfaces out there seems to show blacks using physical intimidation on students of other racial backgrounds like the Asian student reporter, these kids just sitting down to have lunch. Is this for real? How can your premise be equal treatment and then you turn around and physically intimidate anyone not of the appropriate color?
