If Pribula ends up starting and runs as much as he does now, it’s not a question of if he’ll be injured, but how often and how serious; it almost would be a certainty that the back up would have to be prepared to play a lot.In just about any other year (save the last few) I would have hoped to retain a generational QB like Drew Allar. But as it is, I hope he moves on. I don't want the disruption if he stays.
We never had the receivers for Drew, and we probably won't next year. This begs for an option offense with a simplified passing attack built around two tight ends. Beau can execute that better than Drew. He's a better runner and probably not that much different on short to intermediate throws to the tight ends.
Grunk should play much like Beau played during 2024. Make the opposition prepare for two types of offenses. But in this case I think next year's "dual offense" would be much more similar than the stark differences we saw between Allar and Pribula.
When you run the quarterback he's going to get banged up. That always takes a toll on the passing game.
Design the offense for the personnel. Don't try to fit your players into what you want to do as an OC.
Based on what he did in the second half against Wisconsin, I believe that Pribula can be more than an Army or Navy type of qb, and would hope that he isn’t a glorified running back because we won’t be successful for a full season doing that.
