So we had a new wifi router put in a couple of weeks ago and now several things that used to be connected to the wifi don't work (Sonos, Amazon Alexa, etc...) because the wifi network changed. I have not got around to trying to reset the wifi network for them. So whenever you goto turn on the Amazon Alexa by saying "Alexa...play music", it tells you back that no wifi is connected and cannot play music or do anything.

So this morning while in the kitchen, all of a sudden the Alexa starts playing some random music for 15-20 seconds, then it starts playing what sounds like two guys talking like you might hear in a youtube video where guys narrate themselves playing fortnite or something, then back to music again, and then back to people talking, and so forth. Lasts for like 2+ minutes. I say Alexa off and it WILL NOT SHUT OFF, just keeps right on going. I was going to pull the plug and see what happened but i just sat there wondering how long it would last.

Anybody else have something crazy like that happen.

Sounds just as awful as my Google Mini which does all sorts of strange things.

Why don't you just use the same SSID and security/password as your old router with the new router? Then you wouldn't have to touch any of your devices.

Maybe it’s giving you a preview of what’s to come as it takes over the house?
